Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 130

Nell cleared her throat and smiled apologetically, “My bad, I’ve been quite busy lately…”

“Hah!” On the other side, the man scoffed.

Nell heard the scoff and knew that her excuse failed.

She quickly changed the topic instead. “Uh, I planned on coming back today. I was just about to leave when you called!”

The man’s tone contained a hint of mockery. “Just about to leave?”

“Y-Yep!”

“Hmph… Fine. If I don’t see you at home in half an hour, you’ll suffer the consequences.”

Then, he hung up the phone.

Nell’s expression darkened as she looked at the black phone screen.

This man… Was it necessary to be this bossy?!

Half an hour? The fastest way to Leith Gardens was a 20-minute drive. Did that not mean that she had to leave immediately?

She looked at the mountain of unfinished work piling up in front of her...

Nell rubbed her eyebrows tiredly and sighed.

Forget it! She would deal with it tomorrow!

Thinking so, she shut down the computer, gathered her stuff, and stood up.

It was fine if she remained seated. She had been sitting there all afternoon today, and even her dinner was eaten at her desk.

Thus, as soon as she got up, her entire back felt stiff and sore.

Nell frowned, massaging her back, and walked out with her bag.

Since the company was quite busy, many people stayed to work overtime. Although it was already 9:00 pm, the office was still brightly lit, and everyone was sitting in front of their computers working diligently.

Nell walked out to this scene and felt a little touched.

They were different from her. The company was her business, but to them, it was more likely to be just a job.

Nell clapped her hands, and everyone was attracted by the sound and looked up.

“Attention. Everyone, you’ve been busy for so many days. It’s getting late now, so go back and rest early! You can continue any unfinished work tomorrow!”

Cheers broke out in the office.

“Yes! We can finally get off work!”

Nell laughed and finally left.

It was exactly half an hour when she returned to Leith Gardens.

She got out of the car and peered around a little guiltily, and hurriedly sneaked into the living room when she noticed that the man was not around.

Aunt Joyce just entered from outside and saw Nell as she was standing at the door to change her shoes. She exclaimed, “Missus, you’re back!”

Nell smiled awkwardly. “Yes, uh... Is Gideon at home?”

“He’s upstairs in the study.”

Aunt Joyce suddenly hesitated before leaning closer to whisper mysteriously, “You have to be careful when you go up later. It seems that Mr. Leith has been in a bad mood these days. He even threw a big tantrum at home this evening and didn’t eat much for dinner.”

“Huh?”

Nell was surprised.

As far as she knew, although Gideon was a man with a bad temper, he seldom threw tantrums, let alone to the family’s servants.
