Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 134

Everyone was utterly shocked.

Bear in mind that a little spill of boiling tea could give one a blister, not to mention an entire cup being thrown in someone’s direction.

All eyes darted toward Nell immediately. She was unharmed as she managed to dodge it just in time. The teacup smashed against the wall, eventually scattering its shattered pieces across the ground.

They all heaved a sigh of relief.

Frustrated glances were cast in Jean’s direction.

Nell was slightly annoyed too.

She respected Jean for the fact that she was the one who raised Gideon from a young age. She did not wish to start an argument with this woman.

However, that did not mean that Jean could do as she pleased and constantly provoke disputes.

An unperturbed expression washed over Nell’s face as she inquired in a deep voice. “Aunt, you’re in your forties, but don’t you know that you should wait for the tea to cool slightly before drinking?

“This was something even a child in kindergarten knew. However, you’re shifting the blame to the person who poured the drink? Are those eyes and fingers of yours there for show? Could you not see the steam or feel the warmth coming from the cup? Only realize it’s piping hot once it’s in the mouth?”

Jean never expected this from Nell.

Being the youngest daughter in the Leith family, Jean had always been showered with flattery remarks and compliments all her life. She had never been subjected to humiliation like this before.

How dare this woman scold her?

Mocking her to be worse than a child in kindergarten?

Oh goodness, where did this woman gain her boldness? Did she know who she was dealing with?

Not only Jean but Stephanie and the other servants were stunned into silence too.

They marveled at Nell’s courage.

When Gideon’s parents were not around, Jean took up the role of his mother to a certain extent.

She was technically Nell’s mother-in-law according to this logic!

It was truly something that she dared speak to her mother-in-law in this manner…

Amazing!

Jean was about to lose it. “Who do you think you are! How dare you talk back to me? Did you know that I raised Gideon? One word from me and you’ll never be allowed to set foot in here ever again!”

“It’s exactly because of that reason that I’ve treated you with much respect. Not everyone in the world returns politeness with equal respect though. Certain people behave arrogantly in others’ territory using past kindness as an excuse. I don’t think I have to tolerate that kind of attitude if so.”

“You! You!”

Jean pointed angrily at the woman. Her face was flushed red with fury but no words came out from her mouth.

Stephanie frowned and stepped forward to hold the woman by the arms.

“Aunt Jean, are you alright?”

It took Jean some time to release that breath that she had been holding. She nodded frantically, her finger still directed at Nell.

“Well, well, well! This is the first time someone has spoken to me like this. Wait and see! I’m curious who Gideon will pick between us two.”

With that, Jean stomped away in rage along with Stephanie.

The group of servants remained quiet out of fear.

It was only until the sound of the car engine disappeared into the far distance that Aunt Joyce approached Nell slowly. “Missus, I’m afraid Aunt will not leave this issue unsettled. You…”

Nell lowered her gaze for several seconds before replying flatly, “Let her be!”

She did not become who she was today by currying favor with anyone else.

Although she respected the basic politeness between humans, she would never give in if the other person insisted on beating her by ranks of seniority.

No matter who that person was!

“But… What about Sir…”
