Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 150

After entering the office, Gareth went straight to the torn sofa opposite the working desk and sat down.

Sitting behind the working desk, Tim lifted his eyes to glance at him without saying a word.

He was tinkering with something with his hands as the keyboard went clickety-clack. He seemed to be typing.

Not wanting to be a bother, Gareth sat there with one leg folded over the other. He lit himself a cigarette and patiently waited.

About half an hour later, Tim stopped where he was at and stood up. He then poured himself a drink.

“Why are you here? Just speak.”

His blunt words almost had Gareth choking out of anger. Fuming, he replied, “Can’t I look for you if it’s for nothing?”

Tim flashed a chilling smile. “You won’t look for me if it’s for nothing.”

Gareth, “...”

They met in university and ever since then, they became best friends.

The pair were a talented bunch. For them to hit it off so well, there was indeed some level of admiration for each other.

Compared to Tim, Gareth was a lot more tactful. Hence, things had gone well for him since his debut and his career took off with his productions becoming quite a hit. He became one of the most sought-after directors.

Tim, on the other hand, had a similar chance in the early years. However, his stubbornness happened to step over the toes of a well-known big name, which led to his shutout in the industry.

Even with Gareth’s help, he had not been able to chance an opportunity throughout the years.

Familiar with his friend’s character, Gareth was never really angry about it.

He hurled a document onto the desk and solemnly said, “This is the file you have to fill for the investors. Take a look.”

Tim lifted his eyes for a glance. Without flipping a single page, he coldly expressed acknowledgment and that was the end of it.

Gareth had so much anger bottled up inside but nowhere to vent.

“I say, Coombs, do I owe you this much? I eagerly delivered this file to you in person but you don’t look welcoming. This is for our sugar daddy you know. Can’t you at least show for it? Can you be a little more enthusiastic? Don’t you know how hard isn’t to reel investors in with your lame script?”

Although barraged with nagging, Tim showed no signs of anger.

Instead, he picked up the pile of information and flipped through.

He then tossed it aside as though the mission had been completed.

“Got it. I’ll do it.”

Gareth, “...”

Speechless, Gareth rolled his eyes at him. “Fine. I guess you can’t change your temper. Well, it’s not like I’m counting on it. There’s no hope for Janet to take the female lead role this time. I guess it’s normal for someone of that caliber not to join us. It would've been abnormal if she did. You have two choices now, either we continue to wait or we choose Celine. Take a pick!”

Tim paused and slightly twitched his indolent eyelids before firmly spewing these words.

“Continue to wait!”

Gareth just wanted to pick up the ashtray on the table and fling it at him!

“Wait? Can you afford to wait? What if the investors leave? Where are you going to find investors?”

Tim held his tongue.

Gareth felt a migraine popping the veins in his head.

Sure, they were friends, but he was like a father worrying about his son!

What was he seeking?

In the end, he let out a sigh and earnestly advised, “Coombster, the market can be cruel. You spent so much effort polishing this script, do you want to see it ruined by your hands?

“The theme may work in these two years but no one would want to see it after two years. What are you going to do then? Think about your dreams. Are you really willing to waste away the rest of your life? Is it hard to just compromise with certain things?”

Hearing this, Tim’s emotionless long face finally saw movement.
