Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 188

It was not merely the crew’s, Nell’s, and Tim’s reputation on the line if word were to get out...

Gideon would call him into question.

The realization raised a lingering fear within Tim.

Wearing a sullen look, he forked out a phone and began to dial a number. He nagged while pressing on the keys. “No, I have to report this to the police. I can’t allow the perpetrator to escape unpunished.”

Nevertheless, he was stopped short before the call was connected.

Nell fixated her gaze on him and remarked in a serious tone. “We can’t call the cops now.”

Tim was confused. “Why not?”

Nell explained, “We’ve sustained no injuries and if that’s not enough, the spiked food and drinks we have here aren’t enough for the police to find the culprit.

“In addition, we’ll risk giving the game away, leaving the matter unsettled in the end. It won’t be good for the shoot so there’s really no point in calling the cops now.”

Tim was dumbstruck.

Moments later, he still was unable to reconcile with the fact. “Are we just going to let it be?”

Nell smiled. “Of course not.”

She paused before sincerely answering, “Let me handle this if you trust me. I’ll find out who’s behind this!”

Tim frowned. It was not that he had no confidence in Nell but leaving the entire matter on her shoulders when it involved them both, seemed like a d*ck move on his part.

Amid his hesitation, his phone rang.

The incoming call was from his assistant, Hugh.

Tim had to take the call. After an exchange of words, his complexion observed discoloration.

Nell was watching at the side with downcast eyes. Hit by a sudden thought, a glint alighted in her eyes.

As expected, Tim soon ended the call.

He turned his gaze to Nell with his already scowling face and said in a gruff voice, “Bad news. A photo of you entering my room last night was leaked online. I’m afraid the perpetrator has made his move.”

With knitted brows, Nell swiftly fished out her phone and clicked on the Weibo app.

Indeed someone had uploaded several photos on Weibo.

The photo pictured Nell hurrying past a dimly-lit corridor and into Tim’s room with her head down.

One of the photos featured her standing by the door as Tim gave way to her entry. With their frontal-profile captured in plain sight, there was no way they could get away from it.

The headlines yelled for more attention.

“Female celebrity J knocks on the door deep into the night in devotion to art?”

The first person, in connection to female celebrity J, to spring in the mind of netizens was Celine Jennings.

It had never occurred to them that it turned out to be Nell Jennings when they clicked on the photo.

Thanks to the trending topic a few days ago, everyone was no stranger to this name and face.

If the photo in the restaurant hallway was only a groundless accusation, the photo this time was the smoking gun!

After all, in the netizens’ words — which actress in their right mind would know on the director’s door in the middle of the night?

There was no need to feign innocence dwelling in the entertainment circle.

She refused to admit the first time she was brought to light and now that it was clear as a bell, how was she going to debate herself out of it?

They were not kindergarteners. Did they not have reservations knowing a distance should be kept between opposite genders?

For a moment, the discussions were in full swing online.

There were a few who had mistaken it to be Celine and began a rampage online before taking a closer look at the photos.

Soon, they realized they had targeted the wrong person and were, instead, attacked by Celine’s fans.

Keyboard warriors were having the time of their life starting flame wars while remaining anonymous.

In the end, the raging comments were all directed at Nell.

They called her out for being shameless and for seducing the director.

One of Celine’s top fans even revealed that the female lead of “Cannon Fodder Guide” was supposed to be played by Celine.
