Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 191

On the contrary, Celine was the one who paid close attention to it.

After all, the drama was still in the shooting phase and even the trailer was not released yet. A visit by the press during the shoot was highly depended upon to release any sort of news.

Thus, Celine began to put on a mask in the form of a gentle fairy persona the moment the media made an appearance.

“Sister, the next scene is most important in the entire drama. You must do well and not hold us all back.”

Nell threw a glance at her and put it mildly. “Speak for yourself!”

Smiling, Celine muttered, “Of course I’ll do great with so many reporters on-site, and you... Don’t think for a second your acting is good enough just because you represent yourself well for the past few days.

“It’s not all about effort when it comes to acting. Talent plays a part too. Today’s scene calls for an outburst in execution. People can tell when your acting just doesn’t hit on the right point. I can’t be of help if some sort of gossip spread.”

Nell stared at her with aloofness as though she was some joke.

The silence left Celine to assume that Nell was affected by her words. Smiling smugly, she turned to leave.

“Lights, camera... Everyone, we’re ready to shoot.”

In this scene, the protagonist, May Saunders played by Nell finally ascended the empress throne after undergoing extreme hardship.

Having been exposed to her intrigue, the former empress, Magnolia Wolf, reaped what she had sown and lost the emperor’s trust. She was dethroned and thrown into jail.

The new empress and ousted empress met head-on in a palace specifically reserved for those in disfavor. The new empress granted her a poisoned wine to take her own life with.

Before her untimely death, the ousted empress refused to allow the new empress to live her happily-ever-after. Hence, she revealed the actual perpetrator behind her family’s mass murder. It was in fact, the present emperor.

It was a cliche plot, albeit the twist was heart-wrenching.

Of the entire script, this scene was the highlight.

Thus, everyone had made preparations in advance.

Last night, Tim called Nell over at midnight because he was worried she might be able to bring the character to life in the scene and wanted to offer insight.

Although she had been great in her performance, those scenes were rather neutral in emotions, unlike the plot today which compelled intensified sentiments.

The midnight discussion, in turn, gave an opportunity to others to set them up.

Tim was feeling gloomy, clouding the set with heaviness in the air.

The shoot began once they were ready.

Bleakness surrounded the rundown palace of the disfavor with the courtyard was overgrown with weeds and a withering willow tree hanging in a corner between walls. Its leaves were yellow although spring had come and flowers were in full blossom. It seemed no one had tended to the garden.

The bricks on the ground had amassed moss. It was easy to slip and fall if one was not careful. With a horrible musty smell lingering in the air, one had to hold their nose from the intruding dampness that came with.

Nell wondered how the filming crew managed to seek out such a desolate place.

The courtyard was not huge. Taking a few steps to the door, two maids who followed behind came forth to push open the door. An escorting eunuch bent over and announced, “Her Majesty the Empress has arrived!”

However, no one came out to greet her.

The dim light added to the spookiness in the palace. The door swung open to incoming dust and damp mustiness.

Nell frowned as the two palace maids beside her drew upfront to fan the air in an attempt to shun the piercing smell away.

She raised her arm to stop them before lifting her skirt to take strides in.

The desolation and dilapidation could already be felt from the outside but the situation turned for the worst inside the palace.
