Since her relationship with Jason had fallen below the freezing point, it would be better for them to give each other some space for the time being.
It was also to prevent them from causing further conflicts in front of the public’s eyes.
Despite thinking as such, Celine was quite disappointed when she found out that he would not show up.
After all, she did tell Angel to call Jason, hinting at him that she was willing to take a step back. Jason was a smart man, so he should be able to get the hint.
Unfortunately, he decided to not show up.
This could mean that he was still not ready to accept her apologies or that he was still mad at her.
With that in mind, she mocked herself with a grin, which amplified the disappointment in her heart.
“Sister Celine!”
It was then a surprising voice entered her ears.
She looked up and saw a beautifully dressed girl running toward her while lifting her dress.
She was slightly surprised and it took her quite a while to recognize the girl.
“Mia? What’s with your... face?”
Mia lowered her head slightly, looking all guilty. “Sister Celine, shh! Don’t be so loud about it. I had surgery a while ago in another country. How do I look, is my face delicate and exquisite? Am I beautiful?”
Celine was rendered speechless as she stared at Mia’s terrifying big eyes and sharp chin. It was so sharp that it could poke someone to death. However, she forced an awkward smile on her face.
“It’s… nice…”
“Hehe, I knew it, I knew I look beautiful.”
Mia curled her hands around Celine’s arm and said with a smile, “Sister Celine, I’m sorry. I was recovering a while ago, so I couldn’t meet anyone, I didn’t get to congratulate you on your wedding with Young Master Morton. I’ll congratulate you now, happy weddings!”
At the mention of the wedding, Celine’s faint smile faded completely.
In return, she said coldly, “Thanks.”
Mia did not notice the unusual reaction on Celine’s face. Only when she looked around and did not see Jason anywhere, she asked, “Hmm? Where is Young Master Morton? He’s not with you today?”
“He’s busy with his company stuff, so he can’t make it.”
“Hmph! That’s why I say men are different before and after they’re married. Before you guys were married, he would follow you wherever you go like a puppy but now, after you guys are married, he doesn’t even want to accompany you to this important event. Unbelievable!”
Celine’s face froze while the raging fire in her heart burned fiercely as if it would burst out from her chest.
With that, she pulled her hand away from Mia’s embrace and said coldly, “It’s fine. I have some other things to attend to so I’m not going to accompany you, you go ahead and have fun. Excuse me.”
Celine then strode towards Tim.
Mia was left dumbstruck when Celine ditched her. She was transfixed on the spot and failed to react to what had happened for quite some time.
It was then a man’s cheerful voice sounded from the entrance.
“Young Master Morton! What a surprise to see you here! This is really exciting!”
All of a sudden, Celine froze before she turned around in disbelief and saw a middle-aged man hugging a person who had just walked in.
Who else could it be if not Jason?
He wore a white suit that made him look like a gentleman as always. Besides, under the warm lighting, his handsome face made him look like a prince from the medieval age — he was charmingly elegant.
