The two elderly were definitely disappointed.
However, since Charles said that she was Gideon Leith’s wife, they naturally could not force it any further.
The Old Madam sighed in lament.
“Good girls like her either don’t like Lee or are already married. At this rate, when can Lee get married and give me a big and chubby grandson?”
Charles’s expression sank slightly at the words.
“Mom, you don’t have to be so anxious. Lee just returned to the Griffin daily, so we can’t push him too hard. If he doesn’t have the heart himself, then it’s useless no matter how anxious you are.”
The Old Madam also understood this reasoning, but she just could not help herself.
After thinking about it, she eventually sighed and did not continue this topic.
That night, after Nell returned, she told Gideon about the interesting old lady she met outside the stadium.
Gideon was not interested in these things, but seeing that she was in high spirits, he could not help but be happy for her as well.
Suddenly remembering the phone call she had with Janet during the day, Nell told Gideon excitedly, “Did you know? Janet is due soon.”
Gideon raised an eyebrow.
What did that have to do with him?
Nell counted with her fingers. “There’s still a month left. As the child’s godmother, I want to go to Country F to accompany her when the time comes, so you should come with me!”
Gideon frowned.
Without even thinking about it, he refused. “I’m not going.”
Nell naturally did not let him do as he pleased as she said bluntly, “No, you have to go!”
“Since I’m the godmother, you’re the godfather. How can you not go if I go?”
Gideon kept quiet.
Then, he smiled coolly.
“I don’t want to be a godfather. I’d rather be an actual father.”
Nell did not reply to him.
After being stunned for a few seconds, she finally understood what he meant.
Her face instantly turned red. She looked left and right to make sure that no one was around before hissing in embarrassment, “What nonsense are you saying?”
“How can you call that nonsense? We’re a married couple. Isn’t it natural to have a child?”
The man spoke while pulling her into his arms.
Nell could not help but blush even harder.
The two of them were hugging when a servant came over to report, “Young Master, Young Madam, a guest arrived. The Old Madam has asked you to come over.”
Nell jumped and quickly pushed Gideon away.
Turning around, she saw the servant with his head down as if he did not catch them being intimate. Only the slight curve of his lips withholding a smile betrayed his expression.
Nell’s face immediately went red again.
Nonchalant, Gideon waved his hand. “Alright. We’ll be right down.”
“Understood.”
After the servant had retreated, Nell sat up and complained, “It’s all your fault. It’s not nice to let people see.”
The man looked as usual as he straightened his clothes and smiled. “Why are you worried about things like that while at home?”
