Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 335

Janet wept.

Her tears were like a broken string of beads that rolled down her cheeks.

It felt like there was a great weight on her heart. She had an uneasy sensation in her chest and an indescribable feeling spread across her, resulting in the trembling of her body.

Liam sighed and hugged her.

Janet’s sobbing became more intense. She tugged at his shirt and buried her face in his arms as she cried like a child.

It had been five years. They spent four years apart and had a wild night one year ago. Later, she gave birth to Sunny.

She was tired of all the disputes and entanglement with Liam.

She wanted to give it all up. Nowadays, she just wanted to go to some faraway place with her child and live a quiet life. She refused to get involved in love affairs again.

For this, she even gave up her identity as the Eldest Young Lady of the Hancock family and her father’s love.

Yet, Liam brought up this request at such a time.

Did he harbor other intentions?

Did he want to stop her from living a good life by rewarding her after hurting her, so that she could not give up hope in him entirely? It was like she was the fish and he was the fisherman who had his hook on her.

On what grounds did he want her to agree to his request?

Was it just because he still had some feelings for her?

Janet cried loudly and pitifully. She began punching him with her fists.

Instead of retaliating, Liam stood still and allowed her to hit him.

After a long while, Janet got tired from crying and the tears stopped flowing.

She was about to pull herself away from his arms when the man placed a hand behind her head and planted a kiss on her lips.

Janet’s heart skipped a beat as she grasped his shirt tightly. She felt like she had turned to mush.

Some time passed before Liam let her go. He took out his phone and made a call.

“Chet, get the car ready and also the documents needed for marriage registration. Then, wait for me downstairs…”

Janet was bewildered. Before she could react, the man had given his orders and hung up.

She asked nervously, “What are you doing?”

Liam kept his phone and eyed her seriously.

“Jan, will you marry me?”

Janet was speechless.

“We’ll disregard other matters and get married straight away, alright? We’ve always had our families and those entanglements in the past to consider, that’s why there wasn’t a positive outcome for us and we got tired. We’re adults now and Sunny needs a proper family. So, let’s not think too much. Once we get married, every problem will be solved. Do you agree?”

Janet was stunned. It took her some time before she shook her head.

“No, no.”

“Why not?”

Her expression shifted subtly and her heart sank.

“Liam Jackman, why are you proposing to me now? Don’t tell me it’s because you love me. I don’t buy it.”

Liam’s expression sank as well.

He stared at her and the hint of resentment in his gaze began to reappear. Still, he tried his best to suppress it and he asked, “What do you think is the reason, then?”

Janet tightened her lips and remained silent.

All of a sudden, Liam laughed.

He reached out his hand to stroke her face and said in a calm and deep voice, “Jan, you hurt me five years ago, so I abandoned you for four years as an act of revenge. That night, a year ago, you came to look for me willingly. Are you going to hurt me and abandon me again today?”

Janet shuddered.

She clenched her fists and her nails dug deep into her palm, causing an unpleasant sensation.

Immediately, Liam’s gaze hardened as he eyed her.

“But today, I’m no longer the same person from five years ago, so I won’t allow you to leave. No matter what happens, you must marry me, understood?”

Janet opened her mouth and wanted to say something, but gave up.
