“So, you want me to put this on every day and wear it to my office and business meetings?”
Nell’s smile immediately froze.
She awkwardly cleared her throat before she continued. “Well, you can just wear it at home if you want to. It’s just a small symbolic gesture, after all. Hehe…”
“A symbolic gesture?”
Gideon raised his eyebrows. He paused for a moment before he extended his hands.
“Alright then, seeing that it was a thoughtful gesture from you, I’ll let you put it on me. Let’s see whether it fits.”
Nell nodded her head, hesitated a little before she pulled his hands over.
Gideon was wearing a diamond watch on his wrist. Nell carefully removed his watch before she attempted to put on the red bracelet.
Then, the awkwardness started building up in the air.
The bracelet was too small so Nell could not tie it around Gideon’s wrist.
She immediately blushed right up to her ears.
This bracelet was something Nell had knitted out of boredom when she was in the shoot. She had learned it from Nancy.
It was just something she did to pass the time.
Whereas for the lucky bead that was supposedly able to dispel misfortune as according to Nancy, it was something Nancy had just nonchalantly purchased and included it on the bracelet.
As a result, the bracelet was made according to Nell’s wrist size. Gideon, being a man, would naturally have a larger wrist size and would not be able to fit into the bracelet.
Gideon looked at Nell with much intensity as she froze halfway through. Almost as if he was laughing at her, Gideon teased. “So, this is the gift you’ve prepared for me?”
Nell was close to bursting into tears.
She had also realized that she was constantly making a fool out of herself today. Nell quickly apologized flirtatiously to Gideon.
“I’m sorry, honey. I promise that I’ll gift you the perfect anniversary present tomorrow. Let’s just pretend this never happened today, okay?”
Gideon stared at her and let out a lighthearted smile.
“We don’t have to wait until tomorrow. In fact, you could already gift me a decent present today.”
Nell became curious and asked, “And what’s that?”
Within a second, Nell felt a tight squeeze on her wrist as her body was pulled toward Gideon’s chest.
Gideon hugged her affectionately and positioned her on his hips. He lowered his head and whispered gently to Nell, “You.”
Nell was speechless.
“Nelly, let’s have another child, shall we?”
Nell was already worn out at that point. She did not notice the word, “another” in his sentence and she agreed impetuously.
So, the night came and it lasted till the next morning.
On the second day, Nell had unsurprisingly overslept.
When she had fully woken up, it was already in the afternoon.
Nell stared out the window at the intense sunlight before she gasped in shock. She instantly jolted out of her bed in a panic.
However, the moment she stretched a single muscle, she realized that her entire body was aching intensely.
Nell helplessly let out a painful groan before she fell back on her hips.
Then, Gideon entered the room while holding a plate of food.
“You’re awake.”
Nell looked at him and asked, “What time is it?”
Gideon placed the plate on a table, glanced at his wristwatch, and answered, “It’s two in the afternoon. Why?”
