Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 404

Nell nodded.

She could feel Old Master Garrett’s good intentions.

Regardless of how she was treated before, his attitude towards her truly changed after they had discovered that she was the child that Juliette had lost.

However...

Her eyes deepened as she remembered Old K’s death.

“Deon, no matter how complicated that Shelby family is, I want to give it a try.”

Gideon knew what she was thinking.

Nell dealt with matters regardless of its importance and since she had explained her past to him clearly, he naturally knew what she wanted to do at a glance.

The man’s eyes deepened and he hugged her even tighter.

“Alright, you can do whatever you want. Don’t worry about anything else. I’m here.”

Nell smiled.

“Okay.”

Old Master Garrett’s health was getting worse.

It started the night after he announced his will, and the next day, he fell into a coma.

The doctor said that several of his vital organs had completely failed, and if not for the high-tech medical treatment keeping him alive, his life would have already been lost.

Nell had gone to visit him once, but the Old Master did not wake up. Rather, he laid in the sickbed, thin and pale as if he would wither away overnight.

When she came out, she bumped into Joseph Garrett.

Joseph was surprised to see her, as if he did not expect her to visit.

Then, he was immediately overjoyed.

“Nelly, you’re here.”

Nell nodded and thought for a moment before she said, “Second Uncle Garrett, are you free now? I want to talk to you.”

Joseph paused slightly as he looked at the time and nodded.

“Alright. There’s a cafe downstairs. Let’s talk there.”

Nell agreed.

Thus, the two left the hospital and went to the cafe downstairs in which they sat down at a window seat.

Joseph did not know what Nell wanted to talk to him about, but he did not press the issue and waited quietly for her to speak instead.

Nell hesitated for a moment before she asked, “I want to know more about Juliette… about my mother.”

Joseph was stunned but became elated when he realized the term she had called Juliette.

Before this, they had been worried that Nell would be unwilling to acknowledge her identity but now, it seemed that they had just been overly concerned.

“Alright. What do you want to know? I’ll tell you.”

Nell thought about it for a while. “What kind of person was she?”

At the mention of this, a gentle smile spread across Joseph’s face.

“Well, she was actually very similar to you. She was gentle and beautiful. She seemed aloof on the surface, but she was actually very affectionate, filial, and kind to everyone. She was also very talented. By the way, you might not know this, but she used to be an artist. She painted a lot of drawings, but stopped after her health turned bad.”

Nell nodded.

“Many of her works are still in her room. If you’re free one day, why don’t you come home and let me show them to you?”

Shocked, Nell forced a smile.
