Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 481

Nell asked with food in her mouth, “Do you still have any upcoming projects to film?”

Lucy put a piece of meat with equal parts of fatness into the hot pot. “Of course! I got a role in a spy movie not long ago. It’s going to be exciting!”

Nell looked at her otherwise calm expression and paused as something came into her mind.

“You really don’t have any news for me?”

She blinked at Lucy, whose expression was as blank as ever.

“What news?”

“Huh, are you still trying to keep it from me? Do you think I don’t browse the web these days?”

Lucy finally caught on to what Nell meant and burst into laughter.

“Oh, you mean those hashtags you saw on Hot Topics? Those are fake!”

As a fresh face among the new generation of young actresses, Luzy Katz could be described as notoriously popular. After a few gigs, she had become one of the A-list actresses in the country.

Following her popularity, It was inevitable for rumors about her to spread like wildfire.

Most of the time those rumors were fabricated by the media and crafted into clickbait news as a way to attract more traffic to their websites, but there were definitely some that were propagated by the management team to hype up a certain celebrity.

Everyone was hoping that their managing celebrity’s popularity could surpass the person whose name was at the top of Hot Topics right now. This person’s popularity was at an all-time high, and he was Anning International’s new artiste — Logan Sanders.

Although Anning International just signed him as their artiste, he was not, in fact, someone who was new to the entertainment industry.

He had made his debut a few years ago and gained himself some recognition with his performance in a BL suspense TV show.

In spite of that, newer and younger actors took his place very soon when his management team failed to continue to promote him.

He did not receive much fame and fortune these past few years, but he did have a lot of time on his hands to work on his acting skills, which were improving by the day.

Coincidentally, his contract with his agency was expiring, so he decided to leave. After a few weeks of careful contemplation, he signed a contract with Anning International and became Lucy’s colleague.

The company was so struck by his potential that they assigned him a role in an urban drama alongside Lucy. He was the second male lead in the drama, but his character’s personality was much more charismatic than the male lead’s. Hence, his name rose in prominence because of that role.

He played Lucy’s best friend and her suitor in the drama, and the internet had been raving about this ship since day one.

The tall, rich, and handsome male lead, on the other hand, did not receive much attention at all, not even when the drama had come to an end.

That was why their agency, after a round of discussion, agreed unanimously to not remove Lucy’s and Logan’s ship name when it made its way onto Hot Topics. Not only that, they made sure their ship name stayed on the list for a few days.

The agency thought that by affirming the existence of this ship, it would help them in garnering more attention to the drama — at least until the next drama in the queue was released — as long as both of them neither denied nor confirmed any of the dating rumors.

Nell recognized these agencies’ tricks very well, so she knew not to believe whatever news that made it onto Hot Topics entirely.

However, as someone who was more than familiar with the trajectory of life, she could not help but feel wary for Lucy.

Every man who entered her life would be regarded with wariness before all else.

“I can stop worrying now that I know it’s fake.”

Nell said with a mouthful of veggies, “You should put your career above everything else. Do not get yourself involved in a relationship no matter what. Don’t ruin your future like that.”

She paused for a moment before continuing, “Even if you really want to do it, please make sure to find someone who is reliable. I think Joel Foster is a great choice.”

Lucy did not know what to say.

She bit her lip and peered at her with curious eyes.

“Nelly, why do I have a feeling that you are trying to get me and Joel together…”

Nell froze for a second before she chuckled dryly. “Nope, I don’t.”

“Huh, whatever you say.”

Nell could not help but feel guilty when she heard her.

She knew that Joel liked Lucy, and a long time had passed without any development whatsoever between the two of them.
