Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 480

He asked in a low voice, in which she could hear the hoarseness and sleepiness in his voice.

Nell made a small sound of affirmation. Now that he was awake, she did not need to worry about anything.

“I want to drink something.”

“Don’t move. I’m going to pour you some water.”

He turned and sat up as he spoke, pouring a warm glass of water in no time.

Nell held the glass in her hands and took two sips.

The sound of her stomach grumbling suddenly rang out loud and clear in the room.

Nell’s face flushed red.

Gideon froze for a second, and then he grinned at her with an eyebrow raised. “Hungry?”

Nell’s cheeks grew redder. She scrambled for an answer, not knowing whether she should say anything.

In the end, she could only nod in honesty.

Gideon caressed her head with his hand and said, “Be good and sit still. I’m gonna make you something to eat.”

Nell was taken aback. “You are going to cook?”

“Do you see anyone around?”

It was then she realized that it was already 12:00 am. All the takeout restaurants were closed now. Besides, Nell was pregnant, so she could not eat any of the food from the night market anyway.

Considering that the maids were not at home right now either, there really was no one else available to cook other than Gideon.

Nell scratched her head in embarrassment. “Okay then.”

She paused for a moment before saying, “I’ll help you!”

Gideon chuckled. “If you feel bored sitting around then sure.”

Nell pushed her covers aside immediately and stood up from the bed. Seeing that she was about to run to the kitchen, Gideon frowned. He reached out and grabbed a jacket to put it on her.

“Don’t run around too much. Be careful of falling,” Gideon reminded her.

Nell stuck her tongue out. He was hopeless when it came to everything about her. All he could do was tap her nose once and murmured, “Naughty.”

With that, the two of them went downstairs.

Gideon walked into the kitchen as if he had done it a thousand times before.

He was wearing a light camel colored knitted sweater today and a pair of light grey pants. This cozy style made him look much more amiable than he usually did.

Meanwhile, Nell followed him around like his small tail. Although she knew how to cook, nobody would let her into the kitchen after she got pregnant.

They thought that it was bad for her to inhale all the smoke, wishing instead that she would rest more and so prohibiting her from doing any hard work.

Nell felt that their concerns were sometimes ridiculous. However, she knew that this was their way of caring for her, so she went along with them without much protest.

Gideon took out a stalk of greens and two eggs from the fridge. “We’ll have noodles. Is that okay?”

Nell nodded with a smile. “Okay.”

Gideon let the greens soak in a bowl filled with water and cracked the eggs in another. His slim and long fingers held the chopsticks firmly as he gave the eggs a stir. It was an amazing sight to behold.

Nell leaned against the doorway. Her eyes roamed around the kitchen before she asked, “Is there anything I can help you with?”

Gideon glanced at her for a second. “Can you handle the smell?”

There was a period of time when she could not take the smell of the kitchen and would throw up if she caught just one whiff of it.

Nell took a deep breath, and a smile spread across her face.

“I feel fine today.”

Gideon’s soulful eyes brightened up with joy. “You can help me wash some green onions then.”

“Okay.”

The two of them made themselves busy in the kitchen without saying much. Once Nell was done with washing the green onions, Gideon took them and cut them into small pieces. After that, he put them into the water once it boiled.

Nell stood beside him and watched as he poured all kinds of condiments into a small bowl. Those hands that had killed and saved lives on a battlefield were now cutting up greens, but they fit just right in and nothing seemed out of place.

Gideon was done cooking the noodles in no time.

Noodles with eggs and greens were supposed to look simple and bland, but Gideon managed to make it look like a flavourful dish.

He had the bowl of noodles in one hand and waited as Nell took a pair of chopsticks. Together, they walked out of the kitchen.

“Oh, it smells so good!”
