“It’s getting late. I’ll head out now.”
Leon Griffin said as he stood up, preparing to leave.
Joel Foster gripped onto Leon’s wrist.
“Hey, why are you leaving? Are you going to cry alone at home? Can you grow a pair? It’s just a woman. If the old one doesn’t leave, the new ones won’t come!”
Joel winked at Gideon Leith after saying that and asked, “Second Elder Brother, don’t you think so?”
Unexpectedly, Gideon replied with a blank look on his face, “I don’t have any old or new ones. I only have THE ONE.”
Gideon then quickly grabbed Nell Jennings by the waist and hugged her possessively as he finished his sentence.
Leon instantly felt his heart ache.
This was not their way of comforting him, but a public display of affection instead.
How could they show off their love in front of a broken-hearted person? Were they not afraid to be struck by lightning?
Leon was enraged. His face turned cold as he was about to stand up.
Seeing this, Joel then pressed him back down onto the chair.
“Can you stop moping around with that zombie-looking face of yours? If you really can’t stand it and don’t like the idea of getting a new chick, just go and get your ex back!”
Leon shot Joel a vicious stare and retorted, “She’s married. How am I supposed to get her back? Do you think everyone’s an *sshole like you?”
Joel was berated, but he did not get mad. Instead, he laughed and said, “So what if she’s married? You can still file for divorce after getting married!”
As he spoke, he poured himself a cup of tea and continued, “Let me break it down for you. They have a transnational marriage and that ex of yours has never left the country before this. A sudden move like that must have given her a culture shock.
“You should take this opportunity to show her how much you care. It’s best if you can do something related to your high school memories together. After all, it was your first love and you both have been together for so long. You can break up, but all those feelings you have for one another won’t just disappear.
“Isn’t there this saying? As long as you swing the hoe well, there is no wall that you cannot dig through. Wait till she lets her guard down, then just steal her back! Don’t you agree?”
Leon glared at Joel once again.
“Brother Foster, can’t you just say something nice to comfort me? Do you think digging the corner of a wall is something I would do? Only a crook like you will do this!”
Gideon sneered.
“This is why you haven’t been able to find yourself a wife up until now.”
As he said that, Gideon hugged Nell arrogantly in his arms. That look of declaring supremacy was particularly boastful and especially hateful to anyone’s eyes.
Nell rolled her eyes.
Joel clapped his hands and laughed. “Second Elder Brother finally said something fair.”
One should know that if it were not for Gideon’s sharp eyes and quick hands, he would not have been able to steal Nell’s heart.
Nell would have ended up with someone else by now based on her popularity with men!
Leon ground his teeth and seethed, “Leith! Don’t be so proud! I think Nell is still young and fell for your tricks because she’s naive. You better watch out for the day when she comes to her senses. Don’t come crying to me then!”
Gideon let out a cold snort.
“You think too much. Both of us have already signed a life-long contract. Nobody will be able to break us up. Isn’t it true, wifey?”
Nell pressed her lips together for a smile and nodded.
Feeling that his blood was boiling, Leon immediately shouted, “Who invited them to come here to rub it in my face! Somebody, please kick them out now.”
Sitting on the side, the quiet and composed Finn Davis could not help but laugh upon seeing Leon’s infuriated face.
However, Leon’s heartache from the breakup had also lessened significantly after this short banter.
