Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 505

Jada’s heart was stumped. She was filled with jealousy when she saw Lucy Katz’s picture.

The woman in the photo had sparkly glistening eyes and bright white teeth. Her beauty was captivatingly pure and, at the same time, breathtakingly seductive.

Her exquisite features were displayed on the image with only a plain white background as an accompaniment. A fashionable and indescribable aura of refinement was unveiled.

Her eyes fell downcast as she nodded to herself. A deep sense of loathing built up in her heart. “That’s right, this is the woman.”

“Okay.” Levi put away his phone while deep in his thoughts. He nodded as a sign that he understood.

This woman had dared to bully his precious niece. Therefore, she had to pay the price for it.

Three days later, Lucy went back to work.

After seven days, she had finished all the work in her hands. She then set aside a month’s duration to study her script.

Lucy had roughly browsed through the original novel during her working hours before receiving the script.

The novel was of the historical fiction genre. The plot was set in a time of political upheaval of a certain country. The female protagonist, Nelly Wilson, was the daughter of a military commander and fled her home with firm determination to protect her own family. She was the first lady to enlist into the army in those times. She went into battle with the male lead, Quintin Howard, and they both brought honor to their country.

The story not only encompassed tactics used by the army, it also contained the bickering of the women who lived in the Inner Courtyard. Toward the end of the novel, a battle of the wits had taken place in the Imperial Palace Hall. The story left Lucy awestruck in amazement at the author’s plot crafting skills.

The author had seamlessly combined countless elements into this one book. The high expectation of quality from the author was reflected in this very novel.

What was more impressive was the author’s capability to tastefully portray each character. It was expected that the protagonists had elegant physical characteristics which are the basic requirements of any book.

However, the most admirable trait that the author left behind in this novel, was that every supporting character was skillfully illustrated. It did not matter how little they appeared in any scene. If they had a name, they were purposefully thought of for the novel.

The amount of effort required for this level of quality left Lucy shuddering the moment she thought about it.

Hence, after Lucy had roughly scanned through the novel, she closed the book and heaved a sigh of respect. She then gave Mace a call.

“Thank you for roping in such a big IP. I’ve read the original work. It is brilliant and mind-blowing. Trust me, I will not mess up my character.”

Mace was in the office sifting through documents but immediately put down his work when he picked up Lucy’s call. He walked toward the window and quietly gazed at the bustling streets. His heart felt a sudden peace. “We’re friends, are we not? Do friends need to thank each other?”

Lucy shook her head as her voice went softer. “I should give credit where credit is due. After all, you have given me a lot of help here.”

Mace’s eyes turned low-spirited but the words from his mouth were as gentle as ever. “Mm, you better take the time to delve into your character. Make sure to not miss the time.”

Lucy bobbed her head in agreement. “Sure.”

Lucy hung up and faintly looked at the recorded conversation on her phone. She then put her phone away and started to look at her script with fresh eyes.

One month flew by.

In this one month’s time, Lucy hardly went out of her abode. She repeatedly tried to fathom the inner thoughts of the character she was to play.

Nelly Wilson had the mind of a feminine person.

As the daughter of a military commander, she never thought that the women in those times would place her responsibility for the nation as her main mission instead of focusing on caring for her husband and child.

It was a time of extreme unrest. The emperor was not a muddled-headed and incapable person. But he was of a very young age and could not control the ministers under him, who each had their own ulterior motives.

He was a young emperor who was caught in the crux of the moment during the changing of dynasties. On one hand, he had to fight against the ministers who betrayed him. On the other hand, he had to protect his most loyal subordinates.

It was at this time that Nelly Wilson appeared.
