If her memory did not fail her, everyone seated there was all the production company. This meant that those who were supposed to attend the banquet had all arrived?

Lucy carefully recalled the time that Susan had relayed to her. She then glanced at the needle on her watch.

She was certain that she had not arrived late according to the information that Susan had given her. As a matter of fact, she had even reached the place half an hour earlier.

What was going on?

A moment of uneasiness stirred up in her heart.

Lucy’s heart sank. She plastered a courteous, apologetic smile onto her face and placed her hands onto her chest. She bowed slightly as a sign of regret. “I have arrived late as the traffic was congested. Sorry to keep you waiting.”

Levi Fernandez stopped his joyful chatter with the others seated around the table the moment Lucy entered the private room. His face darkened upon seeing her.

The first impression she emanated was that she was an intelligent damsel. Her eyes filled with righteousness. She did not seem like she was someone to be messed with. Levi could not pick up any trace of her being unbearable like how Jada had described her to be no matter how he assessed the situation.

However, how could one judge the book by its cover in the world of entertainment?

How could young women nowadays lack this much self-respect and self-love? She could have settled for the original character that was assigned to her, but she just had to force herself in through her management. This was not virtuous at all!

They started to shrug at each other. Finally, the chatter completely stopped. Everyone looked at Levi with deafening silence.

Lucy also noticed Levi’s peculiar cold glare.

Lucy pondered all these thoughts with suspicion in her heart.

She quickly scanned through her contacts in those short few seconds.

Could it be from the event that she attended earlier? That was impossible. She did not bump into Director Fernandez at the event.

Aside from that, she did not have any opportunity to meet an A-list director like Director Fernandez.

Lucy's heart was so perplexed that she could not mask the hesitation on her face.

Levi noticed the change in her facial expression. More accurately, he had been closely monitoring her reactions.

Levi’s sudden attack left Lucy frozen dead in her tracks and completely lost for words.

She really had no idea how she had offended Director Fernandez.

Lucy felt helpless. She could only admit her wrongdoing and apologize.

She held onto her chest and gave a deep ninety degrees bow. Those who were sitting at the table could see that there was guilt riddled all over her face and her eyes were tightly shut. “I’m truly sorry, Director Fernandez. I did not anticipate that the directions would be so complex on the way here and ended up delaying my journey. I’ve caused this hold up. Director Fernandez and dear colleagues, please do forgive my misdeeds.”

Levi faintly glared at Lucy. His cold tone was quite frightening. “How could we dare to even forgive the dignified and formidable Miss Katz.”

A glint of embarrassment flashed in her eyes. She was rendered speechless at that moment.
