Next, Nell continued to remind Hannah of the things she should be cautious about.
Hannah agreed to all of her orders. After noting down everything Nell asked, she hung up.
As soon as the call ended, Nell quickly reported the situation to Gideon.
In terms of finding a person in this country, Gideon’s abilities were clearly much better than hers.
When he heard about what happened, he immediately sent Matthew out to take action.
Soon, his subordinates had all started to move.
At this moment, on the other side, Joel had just finished picking out the servants for his villa personally. Just as he was about to happily inform Lucy about everything, he received the information that she had been kidnapped.
At that moment, Joel was completely stunned. Dropping everything at hand, he immediately rushed to the police station.
Soon, he got the gist of what had just happened.
His heart sank like a stone.
Looking at his pale expression, Carina was scared. She quietly mumbled, “Second Young Master Foster… Lucy, she… She’ll be alright, right?”
Joel just stared at her blankly, not uttering a single word. Then, he turned around and left.
As the people looked idly at his silhouette walking out of the room, they were at a loss of words.
Neither did they know what his actions meant, nor where he was going.
At that point, Simon was also in the room. He had tagged along with the director to come get more information on the situation.
Seeing what had happened, he frowned.
Patting Carina on her back, he comforted her, “Don’t worry. Karma favors the kind, she will be fine.”
However, as he said that, one thing still perplexed his mind.
Now that something had happened to Lucy Katz, why was Joel the one here instead of Nell?
Although Joel was a major shareholder of Anning International and was technically Lucy’s boss, when celebrities were in trouble in the past, he had never personally done anything about it.
Yet, this time, he personally came down to inquire for more information. He even seemed personally invested in the situation.
Could it be… That these two had some sort of relationship?
Naturally, there was no way Simon would think that the two had some sort of relationship as lovers at this point, but he still felt a little weirded out about the special treatment Lucy was getting from Joel Foster.
However, this was not the time to overthink this. After all, the most important priority right now was to save Lucy. Nothing else mattered.
On the other hand, just as Joel walked out of the police station, he was suddenly tackled by a figure.
What followed was a loud “thud”!
Before he could even notice, the assailant had already ambushed him, grabbing him by his collar and slamming him onto a car.
“JOEL FOSTER! Didn’t you say that you would protect her?! That you wouldn’t let her get hurt? So, what’s going on now? Huh?!”
Mace Smith pushed down on Joel’s chest furiously with his forearm, putting him in a chokehold around his neck. Mace’s eyes were bloodshot. He was so angry that it felt like he was ready to breathe fire.
Mike Luther, who had accompanied Joel over here, was dumbstruck by the situation. He frantically walked up to try and put a stop to it.
However, Joel motioned for him to stop.
With a blank expression, Joel spat coldly, “Let go of me!”
However, Mace did not release his grip.
He had also learned about Lucy’s situation just earlier today.
When he heard that she was kidnapped last night, his heart nearly stopped. He was worried but also furious.
After doing his own investigations and finding barely any clues only did he come over angrily to look for Joel.
Joel glared coldly at his assailant as he repeated himself, “I’ll ask you one last time. LET GO OF ME!”
Mace merely glared back at Joel as he continued to grab on to Joel’s collar with no intention of releasing his grip at all.
