Lily gave a frightening look. “You!”
The man with her came forth. Curious, he asked, “A friend of yours?”
Having blown her top, Lily took him by the arm and accused Nell in an aggravated voice, “I’m not friends with her! Thomas, I bet you don’t know her! She is the forsaken daughter kicked out by the Jennings.
“Not only did she steal my boyfriend, but she also stole her sister’s work to get into the Royal Academy of Arts. You best stay away from a shameless woman like her! Don’t be taken in!”
Thomas Lindbloom was surprised.
His grandfather was the head of the Royal Academy of Arts.
Although he did not see it with his own eyes, he was no stranger to the scandal five years ago.
Thomas had always thought that the person who did such a thing must be ugly inside and out. It never occurred to him that it would be this seemingly distant and graceful lady.
Nell curled her lips and smiled.
“If I remember correctly, there must be a surveillance camera in this store, right?”
Lily was on high alert as she cast a gaze at Nell. “Why do you need to know?”
“Nothing, I’ll need a copy of the surveillance footage as proof to sue you for slandering.”
“...”
“Nell, don’t play pretend! I heard that Jason dumped you because you couldn’t keep your hands to yourself! You must have done some gold-digging to be able to study abroad five years ago. Did you return with a tail between your legs because your sugar daddy left you?
“It’s alright. You can tell me if he ditched you. I know quite a few generous wealthy men. I don’t mind lending you a hand, seeing that we were classmates.”
Nell glanced at her and sarcastically curled her lips.
“There’s no need for that. You should keep those generous wealthy people for yourself, Ms. O’Hare! After all, it’s difficult enough for someone of your looks to befriend them. Isn’t it a waste to give them to someone else?”
“You!”
Lily was ballistic but as Nell could not be bothered with her, she carried her purchase and headed out.
“Wait a minute!”
Lily suddenly called out to her.
Nell’s patience was running thin.
Turning to look at her, Nell coldly replied, “What more do you want?”
Lily took a deep breath and approached her. Suddenly, she let out a wicked smile.
“Nell, did you know? There’s one thing I’ve been itching to do since five years ago but I never had the chance. Now I finally have the guts to do it.”
“What...”
“Smack!”
A clear slap tilted Nell’s head to the side. The right side of her face swiftly swelled up.
Her face washed in icy cold temperature.
The next second...
“Smack! Smack!”
That was two blows.
Holding her face, Lily looked back in disbelief.
“Nell Jennings, how could you?”
“I’m just paying back the favor. Although humans can’t bite back when a dog bites, I always believe that some animals can’t be spoiled. They can’t even remember their name if you spoil them.”
“AHHHHH! You b*tch!”
Lily charged at her like a mad bull. The sales clerks in the store were dumbfounded, at a loss whether to call the cops or pull her back.
There was a hint of coldness in Nell’s eyes.
Taking a step back, she chided, “Mr. Lindbloom, are you going to allow your companion to go mad in here?
Thomas returned from his senses and came forth, putting a restrain to Lily.
“Lily! Enough!”
“Don’t stop me. This b*tch hit me, I won’t let you get away with it today!”
Lily shouted while trying to break free from Thomas to pounce at Nell.
Nell’s face saw a change of emotions.
The dress she had on today, would not gain her the upper hand if they engaged in a catfight. Anyone in their sane mind would back down with Lily wanting to come at her like a mad dog.
