“What do you mean ‘no way’? Hurry up and apologize to Mr. Leith and Ms. Jennings!”
Lily O’Hare finally reacted.
Although she was still unwilling and although her hatred towards Nell ran down to her bones, she understood that Gideon Leith was not someone she could offend.
Thus, she said reluctantly, “I’m sorry, Mr. Leith.”
Gideon’s eyebrows raised.
“I don’t really feel the sincerity in Ms. O’Hare’s apology.”
Lily clenched her fists tightly.
It was just as well that she was humiliated this much during her first encounter with this legendary and remarkable man, but it had to be in front of Nell too.
Intense reluctance and resentment surged into her heart, but they were all suppressed the moment she met Gideon’s cold gaze.
She took a deep breath and said again, “I’m sorry, Mr. Leith. I was wrong.”
“Who are you sorry to?”
“Mr…” Lily finally caught on and cast an unwilling look at Nell. “I’m sorry, Ms. Jennings.”
Nell’s lips curled.
“What did you say? Sorry, I didn’t hear you. Could you speak up?”
Lily O’Hare. “...”
Gideon’s lips also curled in amusement.
Holding Nell’s hand, he agreed. “Yes, I think so too.”
Lily was helpless and did not dare to say anything, so she could only raise her voice.
“I’m sorry, Nell Jennings. I was wrong. Please forgive me.”
Nell laughed in pleasure.
“That’s more like it!”
She rubbed her face and compared it with Lily’s two swollen cheeks. The right half of Nell’s face still felt hot and painful, but her heart was not angry anymore.
“Alright. Let’s go!”
Nell held Gideon’s hand while speaking.
Gideon looked at her with deep eyes. “You’re letting it go just like that?”
“Yeah. If a mad dog bites you, just hit it back once. What’s the point of fighting with a dog?”
Gideon was amused by her words.
“Alright, I’ll listen to you.”
The two walked out hand-in-hand.
Behind them, Thomas Lindbloom watched the scene in shock.
Everyone knew that there had never been a woman around Gideon Leith. He had never heard of any gossip regarding Gideon over the years either.
Unexpectedly, he was together with Nell Jennings!
Lily saw him staring at their backs and pushed his arm in discontent.
“What are you looking at?”
Thomas returned to his senses.
“Oh, nothing.”
Lily snapped. “I told you Nell Jennings was a vixen! Back then, she had Jason Morton wrapped around her fingers, and now she’s climbed up to Gideon Leith! What a shameless b*tch!”
Thomas’s expression changed again upon hearing the curses from her mouth.
When he looked at her again, his gaze was filled with annoyance and impatience.
Lily also seemed to realize that she acted too uncouth today.
It was all that b*tch Nell’s fault! If Nell had not deliberately provoked her, how could she have shown such a side in front of Thomas Lindbloom?
She quickly put on an aggrieved expression and pulled on his sleeve coquettishly.
“Thomas, my face hurts. Take me to the hospital to treat it! I’m scared that my face may be ruined if I’m too late!”
Thomas’s voice lowered. “I have something to do tonight and don’t have time to accompany you to the hospital. Take this card and go by yourself!”
Then he pulled a bank card out of his pocket and gave it to her before turning and walking away.
Lily was first stunned, then completely furious.
What did Thomas Lindbloom mean by this?
Would she have stayed with him if not for the fact that he was the only son of the Lindbloom family, and that her family had tried extremely hard to set them up together?
Now that something happened, he simply gave her a bank card and ran away?
She stormed out in a rage only to see that Thomas had already gotten into his car and drove away without mercy.
She grew so angry that she threw the bank card in her hand away.
