Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 715

Flora was tending to the fish she caught when she said to Nell, “I rear every fish you see in the pond on my own. They are meaty and taste excellent. Big sister will show you how it’s done tonight. You’ll get to enjoy my cooking.”

Nell gave her a polite smile and helped her clean the fish. Then, it was time to start the fire and cook some rice.

She did not know how to start one and had no idea what to do with the wood logs.

That was why Flora did not permit her to try, but she eventually asked her to wash the vegetables when she saw that Nell really wanted to help.

As Nell was washing the vegetables, Flora said, “Oh yes, I forgot to ask you this yesterday, but how did you two end up here in the first place?”

Nell pursed her lips. She cleaned the vegetables in the sink and put them in the basket.

After a few seconds, she said, “We were traveling. The car toppled, and we fell and ended up here.”

Flora spared her a sideways glance. She was watching her with an incredulous gaze.

“Oh, that sounds dangerous!”

Nell grinned.

“But you had a parachute on your back when I carried you on my back that day.”

Nell paused and felt a headache coming up.

Yes, that was true. She had forgotten that detail due to her poor memory.

She could only find another explanation for her appearance. “Yes. We were going to skydive, so we took a car up to the top of the mountain. Who would’ve expected the car to topple halfway through?”

Flora heard her story and clutched her heart in fear.

“Oh my, young people these days! They never appreciate life, always wanting to try out all these dangerous and stimulating activities.”

After a moment, she asked, “Did you come here with just that friend of yours? Is there no one else?”

Nell stared at her and did not tell her the truth instinctively. “There’s one other person. I just don’t know where he is now.”

“A guy?”

“Yeap.”

Flora was quiet and did not speak for a few seconds.

She was frowning slightly. Nell had no clue what she was thinking though.

It was not like she had worked out what Flora’s intentions were for her. She was just being cautious because she was being targeted by an assassin and was not situated safely behind the doors of her own house.

She knew that it was not right for her to do this.

Nevertheless, she also knew that she should be wary of strangers wherever she was, especially in this village. Lying was a tactic she had to use when she had no idea what she had gotten herself into. She was only doing this to protect herself.

It was a few moments later before Flora managed to muster up a hasty smile. “If that friend of yours is still alive, he’s probably looking for you right now. Do you want us to help you find him?”

Nell’s lips curled up into a small smile. “Sure.”

Then, Flora bombarded her with a series of questions.

For instance, she asked about his appearance, job, age, and family.

The more she asked about him, the more Nell felt her sense of insecurity intensified.

Because of that she inadvertently avoided telling Flora the truth.

In all the information she fed her, half of it could be said to be the truth, but the other half of it was definitely made up.

Flora’s face shifted into an expression of shock when she realized Nell had two kids.

“You’re a mother already?”

Nell nodded. “Yes, you can’t see it?”

Flora frowned and made a sound dissent. “I can’t see it,” she said, shaking her head.

Then, she exclaimed, “You people living in the city take such good care of your skin. You look like you’re only seventeen or eighteen years old when you’re already nearing thirty. If you didn’t tell me, I would’ve assumed that you are a young lady who just graduated from college.”
