Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 77

Celine was speechless.

A crippling silence trailed along the air between them.

A few seconds later, she burst into giggles.

Lifting her head to meet Nell’s gaze, she coldly blurted, “You think you can fool me?”

Nell clicked her tongue and shook her head. “Fine if you don’t believe me.”

Celine glowered.

“What’s the meaning of all this?”

“Oh, nothing. It’s great if you get it but it doesn’t matter if you don’t. My intention is to let you know that you caught me off guard when you brought me down five years ago but it’s different now!

“You must be delusional to think I’m that stupid. I knew you and Lily were going to set a strap in an attempt to lure me here and destroy the name I made for myself. Now, would I be that dumb to come unprepared?”

The color was washed off Celine’s face.

In disbelief, she shook her head.

“No way! If you really had proof, why didn’t you come forth five years ago?”

Nell sneered.

Without a word, she turned over, ready to walk away.

Caught in a fluster, Celine reached out to grab her.

“Hold it right there! Get it straight...”

However, a figure rushed over in a scurry, knocking right onto Celine in a bang.

“Ahhhhh!”

Amid a shriek, Nell’s quick reflexes laid hold of Janet. She turned for a look and found half of Celine’s skirt drenched in red wine.

“Oops! I’m sorry, really sorry. What a twist of fate, don’t you think? I wasn’t able to stop in time running here and rammed onto you!”

Janet grinned as she fished out a handkerchief to help wipe off the red wine.

Of course, Celine did not want her help. Afraid that Janet might push her by surprise, Celine quickly retreated back.

“Don’t come any closer!”

“Tsk! It is you who rejected my help so don’t come blaming me that I didn’t apologize!”

With that, Janet pulled back with a clear conscience.

Celine turned blue in the face.

Janet smiled. “Don’t be angry. It’s only a dress. The dress is ugly and makes you look like a pregnant old lady. I did you a favor by soiling it. At worst, I’ll buy you a new one.”

“...”

“Also, pregnant women shouldn’t get angry. You risk compromising the baby if you sulk. This is the only bargaining chip for you to marry into the Morton family so you have to treasure it.”

Celine was fuming.

After Mia sent Emily off, Mia came back looking for Celine because she was concerned that Celine was alone downstairs. She dashed over at the sight of Celine drenched in red wine.

“Celine, what happened to you?”

In the absence of words, Celine stared daggers at Janet. If looks could kill.

Ignoring Celine, Janet looked at Mia with a bright smile. “Nothing. She soiled her dress by accident. Since you’re here, we’ll leave her to you! A pregnant woman needs to be taken care of, after all. We don’t want to intrude any further so we’ll excuse ourselves. Bye-bye.”

She pulled Nell along and strode off.

“...”

Nell was surprised by Janet’s sudden appearance.

She could not help but laugh, harking back to when Celine was rendered speechless.

Tugging on Janet’s hand, she asked, “Oh, where were you? You were away for a long time.”

Janet’s eyes twinkled.

She gave a vague answer. “Nowhere. I was just catching up with a few familiar faces.”

Janet switched the topic to avoid continuance on the question. “Oh, right. Did you let Celine in on it?”
