As Vickie spoke, the blade slid from Yuliana’s ear to her neck. The cold, metallic blade left a chill on her skin and she was on the verge of tears.
“Vickie, don’t...don’t do this. Just talk to me properly…”
No matter how bold and brazen Yuliana was, she was just a young lady who lived a sheltered life. Since when had she been threatened by someone with a dagger?
Therefore, she nearly broke down when she sensed the hard blade pressing against her skin.
Nevertheless, Vickie would not let her off the hook that easily. Her gaze darkened and she continued, “Right, you still don’t know what I used to do for a living, do you?”
Yuliana shook her head. “No, I don’t.”
“How about…you take a guess? If you guess correctly, I’ll let you go.”
Yuliana listened and silently cursed that woman for being a pervert. However, she dared not say anything and tried her best to look at the latter in the eye.
The woman had fine features and seemed rather attractive. She was the type with a unique blend of innocence and ruggedness. Her short haircut was crisp and neat which complemented her deep-set eyes under her messy fringe.
Yuliana pondered and shook her head. “I don’t know.”
She could not figure it out at all.
Still, judging by Vickie’s appearance and charisma, Yuliana guessed that the former must have lived a good life as well. Otherwise, she would not have developed this sort of aura.
However, she was unable to tell for certain what Vickie used to do. She had a hunch after sensing the dangerous aura emanating from her but dared not say it.
Although Vickie noticed her reaction, she did not get angry. Instead, she smiled.
It was better had she not smiled, for when she did so, Yuliana felt a shiver run down her spine. She wished that Vickie would finish her piece quickly and let her go.
Vickie moved closer to her ear and lowered her voice to say, “I used to be…an assassin.”
What?
Yuliana was shocked.
An assassin? What the hell?
Vickie explained, “I’ve killed more people than you think. You’ve never seen an assassin kill someone before, have you? In fact, if I were to just give it a good thought, there are ten thousand ways for you to die. Plus, I can guarantee no one can tell who did it. Do you want to give it a try?”
Her words were laced with poison.
Yuliana finally understood that Vickie was not pulling her leg today.
Vickie bore a composed expression and did not throw a fit. Actually, she did not seem angry at all. However, Yuliana knew that she was upset, very upset!
The more upset she was, the calmer she looked!
Still waters ran deep. Its surface might look steady, but danger lurked beneath.
Yuliana was frightened!
For some reason, she had a sudden inkling that Vickie did have the guts and the ability to kill her, then hide her body without anyone’s knowledge. No one would find her and no one would realize what had happened.
Right now, she was extremely remorseful and regretted stepping on this woman’s toes.
Fortunately, Vickie had no intention of killing her. When she realized how pale Yuliana had become, she loosened her grip slowly, kept her dagger, and straightened her back.
