Ginny spoke cautiously, “Don't say that Miss Lynch, the Young Master cares about you too. When he heard you were poisoned, he ordered a full-blown investigation of the chateau!”
However, this was one of the rare occasions that Ginny did not hear a response.
Yuliana thought it was impossible that he was doing any of it for her.
As before, the whole thing was aimed at Vickie.
All she did was take a bullet in her place by stealing her soup.
If Gregory really cared, why was he not here when she woke up?
In fact, besides Ginny, not a soul was in the room; not even Mr. Osborne.
For the first time in her life, Yuliana now felt that the room was too large and empty compared to how, usually, she felt the rooms were too small.
Everything seemed hollow and it made her feel worse.
However, she decided to mask all her sadness and emptiness.
Yuliana turned to Ginny and said, “I’m alright now, don't cry. I’m a little hungry, so please fetch me something to eat.”
Ginny nodded. “Right away, Miss Lynch.”
Since Yuliana just had her stomach pumped, she could not eat much. What she could eat was just half a bowl of plain porridge from the kitchen.
Although she was never considered extremely rich growing up, she was still considered relatively wealthy, so never had she eaten something so plain before.
Out of habit, she frowned out but held her tongue and obediently ate the porridge with no protests.
On the other hand.
Vickie had been sitting in her room since after lunch.
She knew that the poison was targeted towards her.
Yet despite that, she barely had any reaction to the whole fiasco as she had long accepted that someone was out to kill her and it felt like just another day in her life.
Eat, sleep, rinse, repeat.
That caused some of the maids in the chateau to see her as ‘weird’.
Only Vickie herself knew that she was perfectly normal.
She was admittedly quite taken aback since she had been thinking that the other side would not make any moves. However, she did not think that they had already set the traps and it had reached as far as inside the chateau.
At this point, she had two questions.
One, who was behind the poisoning this time? Which party was it?
Second, how did they do it? What or who did they use?
Since the incident, Gregory had first interrogated the guards.
As for the kitchen, where many people use the place, several other people had also gone near the pot while it was boiling other than Reina.
Not to mention that if someone was out to poison her, it might not have been from the soup either.
It could have very well been in the bowl, the water used to make the soup, or the dry ingredients. All of the above would provide the same outcome.
Thus, to figure out the source was a huge challenge.
Right now, even finding the culprit was coming up empty, let alone figuring out which party was behind it.
However, it was not a complete loss.
Since arsenic is so potent, it almost killed someone perfectly healthy like Yuliana.
Vickie, on the other hand, was still recovering and might not have survived a stomach pump. She deduced it was likely the party that wanted her dead — the same ones who ran her over with a car. They were violent.
The second party clearly wanted to capture her alive.
