Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 835

She was nothing more than a pawn to them from the very start.

A pawn used to deal with Gregory Graham, the original Vermilion Bird Organization, and maybe even the entire underground network.

Her eyes turned cold at the thought.

Dan seemed to not notice her inner turmoil and smiled blithely. "My little junior doesn’t seem to be very happy to see me. Is there some misunderstanding we have?"

Vickie laughed coldly.

"You know very well if this is a misunderstanding or not!"

Dan raised his eyebrows.

If one were to ignore the distinctly evil atmosphere that was around the man, the gentle and warm face he had would have charmed the pants off a bunch of women.

Vickie was not within his demographic.

Dan let out an empty laugh, saying, "Judging by your tone of voice, little one, you seem to be pinning the blame on me for all the things that happened to you last time. Such unjustified accusations, I knew you had been released from jail so I came to reunite with you! Being met with such slanderous words fill me with much sorrow."

Vickie was livid at how carefree and laid-back he was acting.

She glared at him out of the corner of her narrowed eyes. "Spit it out. What do you want from me?"

Dan grinned. "What if I said I came to see you and catch up for old time’s sake?"

Vickie blankly stated, "We have nothing to catch up on."

Dan gasped dramatically.

He then paused before showing a hint of a smile. "I can understand how you feel. Poor little Vickie believed that we lied to you and betrayed you. But if you think about it, little one, besides not telling you our true identity, did we hurt you in any other way?"

He paused as his eyes darkened. "We may have used you in the final showdown, but we have no other use for your life after that. A good little pawn knows that they're no longer needed on this earth after their time is up."

Dan's voice was level and even, but Vickie could hear the chill in every word he said.

Her eyes also turned cold, asking, "What. Do. You. Want?"

He smiled at her with hollow eyes.

"Come with me."

Without waiting for her to reply, he continued. "I know that Gregory Graham has someone tailing you. Perhaps the moment I step forward, a bunch of people will jump out to ambush catch me! But oh little one, I’m sure you’re aware that I have other things up my sleeve since I still came despite knowing of the danger. So come quietly, and I promise I won’t hurt you. How about that?”

Vickie glared at him. Her expression remained unchanged but her mind was a whirlwind.

She knew Dan Thinple very well. Back in the days of the Vermillion Birds, he was the brains and the body of the entire organization.

He was swift and skilled at fighting, had a mind for strategy, and to top it off, he was extremely scheming.

She knew she was no match for him in both brains and brawn.

There was also one other important issue.

The people Gregory had sent to watch over her had been discreetly hovering nearby the entire time. She could sense them when she went to bed last night.

Now, they were gone. She could not sense them.

It was as if they had vanished into thin air.

Her stomach tied into knots. Vickie dared not think about what had happened outside. All she could do was stall for time.

“So what, the body that was found in the river yesterday, that was your doing as well?”

It was unclear if he noticed what she was trying to do. Dan was in no hurry and he blandly responded, “Nope.”

Vickie frowned.
