Vickie’s mind was in complete disarray.
She had no idea if it was really as Dan said and Gregory had to leave because there was an issue.
Either that or he was just temporarily tied up and could not rush over right away.
Regardless, she would never play into his hands like that.
The thought passed her mind and she calmed herself.
"Dan, we've known each other for so long but you've never taught me how to play darts have you?"
His eyes narrowed and before he could respond, something whizzed toward him.
It was a dart.
Dan immediately scrambled to run and hide.
As for the darts, they followed him wherever he ran like homing missiles.
At the same time, Vickie took the chance and turned her wheelchair around, heading toward the door.
Dan coldly smiled when he noticed what she was up to. "Running away?"
He had already taken care of the darts and was headed straight for her.
Vickie panicked and lifted a leg to kick him but her leg was caught mid-air and she was pulled up.
In an instant, her body was lifted off the wheelchair and right into Dan's embrace.
With one hand holding onto her legs, one hand supporting her neck, and her forehead on his shoulder, Dan evilly said, "My oh my, this little one is so cruel. Had you kicked me, your poor senior would’ve lost his crown jewels. And you almost did it!"
Vickie scowled with ice in her voice.
"Dan Thinple! LET ME GO!
"Ah~ I already said that I was here to catch you. Why would I let go after I went through so much trouble to get you?"
He glanced outside.
"Oh no. You're still waiting for Gregory Graham, aren't you? Pity that he won't come. I ordered my men to rob his casino. He won't let billions of dollars just vanish in front of him. Quietly come back with me, little one. He won't come and you’ll understand why I did this."
Vickie hesitated and right at this moment, a clear voice rang from outside.
"Who says I won't come?"
The pair froze and turned their heads.
Gregory was standing at the door, his tall stature bathed in sunlight, shining radiantly.
Vickie's face lit up.
"Gregory!"
She thrashed around, struggling to get out of Dan's grasp.
Unfortunately, he had an iron grip on her neck and it was impossible to get free.
Dan's face hardened.
He was simultaneously surprised and disappointed.
He gritted his teeth and said, "Gregory Graham, you really came. Forty billion dollars for a woman. Won't your partners be disappointed in you?”
Gregory's face turned ice cold.
"Worry about yourself for a change! The moment you appeared, news of your betrayal toward the Vermilion Bird Organization could no longer be hidden. Hundreds of people who got involved back then will come and hunt you down. You should’ve known without me telling you. If you know any better, let her go, and I can still let you live.”
Dan roared with laughter.
It was as if he had heard a funny joke and stared at Gregory. "AMAZING! Looks like I underestimated you. I have nothing more to say."
He paused and lowered his head, whispering in her ears, "I'll be back for you, little one, wait for me okay?"
With that, he threw Vickie forward but instead of falling forward, she fell back.
Since her legs were still not stable, she almost got thrown to the ground.
