Massimo’s friends were standing alongside him. They were the young masters of a few local affluent families.
When they saw Vickie, each of them was thoroughly stunned by her.
One of them nudged Massimo and laughed. “Brother Massimo, who’s this pretty lady? We’ve never seen her before. Why haven’t you introduced her to us, huh?”
Massimo had been close friends with them ever since they were kids. Of course, he knew what they had in mind after seeing Vickie.
He pushed them away. “Go on and drink your alcohol. There’s no need to talk nonsense over here.”
Everyone saw his reaction and laughed.
Someone decided to tease Massimo. “Brother Massimo, I heard that you invited your crush to the party. Is this girl your crush?”
When he said that, Massimo’s face instantly turned red.
Massimo glared at that person and shouted, “What are you blabbering about? She’s one of my closest friends, just like all of you. If you don’t know anything, then you shouldn’t be spouting nonsense.”
His intention was to stop these rich playboys from making any inappropriate jokes. After all, he did not want to make Vickie angry.
Vickie was a gorgeous woman. As she was alone, they probably thought that she did not have a boyfriend. As such, once they heard that Vickie was not Massimo’s crush, each one of them started to flirt with her.
“Ah, I get it. I just know that a man like you wouldn’t be good enough for a beauty like her.”
“Haha, you’re going to make Brother Massimo mad if you say stuff like that.”
“The birthday boy can’t get mad today. Wouldn’t it be embarrassing if the lady sees him getting mad?”
They kept on laughing without caring for their appearances.
Massimo could not do anything to them. As such, he felt a little helpless at that moment.
He lowered his voice and explained to Vickie. “Vick, don’t mind them. They might not be able to control their mouths, but they’re still good people at heart. If any of them harasses you, then feel free to beat him up. You don’t have to worry about me, understood?”
He only dared to tell her all of that purely because she was Vickie.
If it was another person, then Massimo might need to protect them.
After all, they were wolf cubs who grew up in a garden. They might not have evil intentions, but accidentally offending someone was not a good thing either.
However, Vickie was different. Massimo knew about the evil wolf hiding inside Vickie. If that group of boys was a litter of wolf cubs, then Vickie would be the alpha wolf. They were not a match for her at all.
That was why he could say those words to Vickie without any worries.
Vickie grinned after listening to Massimo.
She nodded her head slightly and said, “No problem. You don’t have to worry about it. Go and get on with your things.”
At that moment, someone was calling for Massimo.
As such, Massimo did not stay for long and left.
After Massimo left, the young masters immediately surrounded Vickie.
“Hi there, pretty lady. Massimo said that you’re his friend, so why haven’t we seen you before? What’s your name?”
Vickie looked askance at that person. She had no intention to keep her name a secret. “Vickie Thomas.”
As her thin lips uttered her name, that person’s eyes lit up.
Another person instantly laughed. “Are you a local, or are you a Chinese?”
Vickie’s mother was Chinese. As such, her appearance resembled a Chinese person as well.
Vickie thought for a while before answering, “I guess I’m both a local and a Chinese.”
That person said, “I understand. You have Chinese blood in you.”
