Vickie's heart trembled when she saw that he had squeezed out some of the medicine as if he was going to help her rub it in. She even said, "You don’t have to do this. I...I’ll just do it myself later."
Gregory paused, looked at her, and sneered.
"Are you sure you can do it yourself?"
Uh...Vickie looked down at her swollen leg. It was indeed a bit difficult to do it herself.
However, she still did not want this man’s help, so she said, "I can ask Andrea to help, or even the doctor."
Gregory scoffed.
"Andrea’s just a maid, she knows all this?"
After a pause, he added, "Do you really think the doctors here have a lot of free time to help you rub your foot? Doesn't she have to see other patients?"
Vickie was stunned.
She was a little confused by his words.
Was this female doctor in the chateau not hired earlier specifically to take care of her injuries?
Was there another patient in the chateau she needed to see?
Vickie did not know and did not dare to assert herself.
Before she knew it, the man had already rubbed the medicated ointment on her leg.
His palm was large and broad, with a slight roughness. It was the kind of roughness that came from years of martial arts training as well as from holding a gun.
The thin calluses slid over her delicate skin and carried with it a numbing tingling sensation.
Vickie did not know why as it was obvious that this man had done nothing, but she still felt inexplicably unnerved.
It was almost as if she had to grit her teeth to barely restrain herself from grunting softly.
Her face flushed red.
As Gregory concentrated on rubbing the ointment on her leg, he also paid attention to her face.
He saw that the little woman's face had blushed as red as two small apples and a smile flashed across his eyes.
In fact, the sensation he felt on his hand had made his heart pound as well.
After all, he was facing the woman he liked. How many men could truly restrain themselves in this scenario?
However, he knew that at this time, Vickie still had not fully accepted him, so he could not possibly do anything out of character to aggravate her.
Gregory quickly rubbed in the medicine for her.
Her leg that was swollen had subsided a bit.
He then put her leg under the covers and held her other leg.
"Was it this leg that cramped up just now?"
Vickie was stunned and nodded subconsciously.
Gregory then held the ankle of that leg and massaged it for her again.
Vickie was silent. She did not want him to continue but thought that if she refused all his efforts, she would seem a bit ungrateful.
Thus, she just let him be.
Gregory rubbed her foot for a while until he was sure that the cramping pain had passed, then he put her leg down.
Vickie immediately retracted both of her legs back into the quilt.
At this time, her entire body had shrunk under the covers and only her small, round head popped up. She looked at him with a wary gaze.
"Now that you’re done helping me with the medicine, you can go, right?"
Gregory choked.
He was silently sulking in his heart.
Then, he sneered.
"Now that you’re done using me, you want to kick me out. Aren't you just a little too heartless?"
Vickie pursed her lips and said, "It's not like I made you come."
She was telling the truth.
Unexpectedly, Gregory became more vexed when he heard that.
He stopped in his tracks as he was leaving, then turned back, leaned down, and braced his arms on either side of her shoulders. He stared at her coldly.
