Gregory Graham and Vickie Thomas ate dinner in peace.
After the meal, Gregory went back to the study to do some work, while Vickie asked Andrea to accompany her while they watched dramas in the living room.
In the past, Vickie did not like to watch these soap operas because she thought they were boring and a waste of time. Ever since she was injured and had to stay home every day, she had changed her opinion and found leisure in watching them.
The two women were sitting on the couch and held a bag of chips as they ate and watched TV.
In one of the episodes, a female character in a TV series used certain tactics to seduce the male lead, which made the man misunderstand that it was the female lead who had stolen the company's information.
Andrea suddenly said, "This is just like Yuliana’s style."
Vickie was stunned and turned to look at her.
She laughed ridiculously and said, "She already left. Your grudge against her hasn't gone away yet?"
Andrea realized that she had let her mouth slip and had accidentally said what was in her heart, so she stuck out her tongue.
"I'm just avenging your injustice. You're too indifferent in nature, that's why you always let people ride on your head and bully you."
Vickie smiled and did not reply.
Actually, the reason she did not care was not that she was open-minded.
It was simply because she was too lazy to be bothered.
For her, as long as the other party did not step on her bottom line, she simply did not have the heart to deal with worthless theatrics.
It was better to practice darts than to spend her energy on dealing with people who did not matter.
After watching two episodes of drama, Vickie felt a little sleepy.
She then went back to her room to sleep.
Andrea accompanied her back to her room and left only after Vickie fell asleep.
The next day.
Vickie just woke up and suddenly got a piece of news.
There was a very big auction on the east side of the city that night.
Usually, she was not one that liked crowds, and auctions certainly had nothing to do with her.
This time, however, she paid extra attention to it just because of a rumor on the internet that there would be a rare treasure at this auction, the Arcane Jade.
When she saw this news, Vickie was sitting in the living room with Gregory.
The two of them looked at each other, and they both saw something very profound in each other's eyes.
The Arcane Jade that had disappeared four years ago had now appeared again.
Was it a coincidence, or was someone doing it on purpose?
After Gregory's previous investigation and analysis, the two had learned that all the previous rumors about the Arcane Jade being able to bring people back to life were actually false.
Even though they knew it was fake, it did not mean that outsiders would know.
Thus, when this news came out, the entire circle was in an uproar.
There were quite a few people who wanted to get tickets to this auction, and even if they could not snag it first, just one glimpse of this legendary treasure would be worth it.
Since it was related to the Arcane Jade, Vickie and Gregory surely wanted to go as well.
They had already asked Harold to acquire two tickets so they could go together in the evening.
After Massimo Nolan’s birthday banquet the previous day, Vickie's foot, which had healed, was swollen again.
Thus that night, Gregory did not allow Vickie to wear high heels again.
It was good that it was just an auction like this, so it was not inappropriate to wear something casual.
Vickie then asked Andrea to prepare a pair of flats for her that would match her evening gown.
Tickets for this kind of auction were not too hard to get.
