”How old are you? Look at how careless you are."
Gregory looked at Vickie angrily.
However, at this point, how could she notice this?
The doctor had previously said that there was a 48-hour monitoring period, and only after he survived those 48 hours could he be considered to be completely out of danger.
That was why Vickie had been monitoring him by staying by his bed for the past two days.
Now that he was finally awake, how could she not be happy?
Vickie's excitement could not be concealed, and as Gregory looked at her, his eyes brightened.
It would be a lie to say that he was not moved.
However, as this surge of overwhelming emotion arose, it gave him a complicated feeling.
Not noticing the change in his mood, Vickie said with concern, "How are you? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere? Does your wound still hurt?"
Gregory held her small hand that was blindly touching him everywhere and replied, "I'm fine. It doesn't hurt."
After a pause, he asked, "How long have I been unconscious?"
Vickie pursed her lips before she replied, "Two days and two nights."
"You've been here all this time?"
His eyes stared straight at her. Vickie was so startled that her heart skipped a beat for no reason.
She pulled her hand back and looked away as she felt a little uncomfortable. "Don't overthink things. I'm just worried that someone will take this opportunity to hurt you again. If so, who’ll help me with the clues after that?"
Though the woman's denial did not change Gregory's mind.
No matter what she said, he could clearly see that the concern and worry on her face were not fake.
He laughed lightly and probed.
"Is that the only reason?"
Vickie became even more uneasy as she muttered, "What else could it be?"
She pressed her lips together and continued, "Okay, just lie down. I'll go get the doctor."
As she said that, she turned around and walked out.
However, when she reached the door, she saw that Mr. Osborne had already led the doctor into the room.
In fact, when Mr. Osborne saw Vickie and Gregory alone together, he did not want to disturb them, so he went out.
Since Gregory had just woken up, Mr. Osborne had to have the doctor examine him again and that was why he went to inform the doctor.
At this moment, he happened to bring the doctor over, but he did not expect the two of them to have finished their conversation.
Seeing Vickie at the door, Mr. Osborne smiled and said, "Miss Thomas, you’re awake? Where are you going?"
Vickie froze and only then did she realize that Mr. Osborne must have seen her asleep just now so she felt a little abashed.
With a slight smile, she replied, "I'll go get the doctor."
Her gaze then fell on the doctor who was following behind Mr. Osborne and felt even more embarrassed.
"Since the doctor’s already here, you guys should head in. I'll take my leave first."
After she said that, she left hurriedly.
Mr. Osborne was stunned and somewhat confused. He called out to her, "Don't you want to hear the doctor's results?"
Vickie replied in a loud voice, "It’s alright, there’s no need."
She knew that the doctor Gregory had found must be the best doctor.
Since the doctor had said before that as long as he survived the most crucial 48 hours and woke up, he would be fine.
Gregory had survived and woken up successfully, so it would definitely be fine.
