Soon after Gregory received the text message, he sent someone over.
Vickie did not have to wait long before Harold came over.
He knocked gently on the door outside, and she walked over to open the door when she saw that it was him. Then, she passed him the bottle of essential oil.
Perhaps because she was in her pajamas and they were in a private place like her room, Harold kept his head down and did not look up at her much.
After receiving the bottle, he heard Vickie instruct him, “Check its ingredients and tell me immediately after analyzing the results.”
Harold nodded and agreed softly before turning to leave.
Only then did Vickie shut the door.
After sending the item away, her heart was a little more at ease. She felt sleepiness set in as she lay down on the bed and soon fell asleep.
The next day, at breakfast, Gregory and Vickie were the only ones in the dining room. The two had a habit of not speaking when eating, so no one spoke at the table.
It was not until after the meal that Vickie said, “There’s something I want to talk to you about.”
Gregory looked at her and slowly put down the teacup in his hand. “Let’s go to the study.”
Thus, she got up and pushed his wheelchair to the study.
After entering the study, she turned to close the door before sitting down on the sofa. She said, “When you were injured before, there was a period of time where things were too busy, so there was something I haven’t been able to tell you.”
Gregory looked at her. “What is it?”
She took out the map he had drawn earlier and said, “This map has the same pattern on that jade of yours. Andrea said she has seen it before.”
Gregory paused, slightly surprised.
In fact, besides him, even Vickie had been surprised when she first heard about it.
However, the man returned to his senses very quickly. His expression evened out after only a moment. He asked in a low voice, “What’s going on?”
Vickie shook her head. “I don’t know the details. Didn’t you give me a document to read on the day you set off for the neighboring city? When I was reading it, Andrea happened to come in and saw the picture on the file.
“According to her, she just thinks that the pattern on the jade in the picture looked familiar to her. She seems to have seen it somewhere before, but she can’t remember where.
“I had doubts that maybe she was mistaken, but later, when we found out that the spy who was mixed among the guards also had that map on him, I knew that the pattern shouldn’t only have been on one item.
“There should be more than one person who’s seen it, so it might not be impossible for Andrea to just happen to see it somewhere else.”
Gregory’s brows furrowed deeply. He fell silent and did not speak, and Vickie knew that he was thinking about the possibility of this matter.
After a long time, he finally said, “She still hasn’t remembered yet?”
Vickie shook her head.
Gregory was quiet again.
Vickie said in a low voice, “What I mean is…should we send someone to check her hometown? I heard that after she graduated from school in her hometown, she came to work here after being introduced by an acquaintance. She’s young and hasn’t been to many places, so we can check all of them and see if we find any clues.”
Gregory hummed. “We can, but…”
