The man’s eyes brightened as he looked at Vickie. “Massage where? My body? Are you going to massage me?”
Her bright smile immediately darkened and she scoffed. “Dream on. Massage yourself!”
Then, she got up and stormed out in a huff.
Gregory really did not expect her to be angry. He did not even realize what his words insinuated.
It only dawned on him that he had said something wrong when he came back to his senses, and the woman had already walked to the door. He quickly corrected himself, “Hey, that’s not what I meant. Don’t misunderstand. I…”
“I don’t care what you meant.” Vickie turned around and said viciously, “I’m telling you, you ‘d better put away those dirty thoughts you have of me, or else…Hmph!”
She raised her small fist and made a threatening gesture before striding out.
Gregory felt very wronged. Extremely wronged.
He sat there, feeling that he clearly did not do anything. Everything had been brought up by the woman herself, so how did he become the villain in the end?
He sighed helplessly. A woman’s heart really was as fickle as the changing weather. There was no point in guessing a woman’s thoughts because no matter how you tried to, you would never understand what she was thinking about.
Those words of wisdom were never wrong.
He turned and looked at the essential oil that Vickie left and picked it up to scrutinize it.
The image of a certain little woman using it to massage him came to mind, and his lips could not help but spread in a smile.
Hmm…Well, it really did not sound like a bad idea if she was willing to.
On the other side, Vickie left in exasperation and only slowed down after reaching the stairs.
She was not actually angry but had just said that she was. She really did not know how to deal with Gregory acting like a flirt in her current state of mind.
She already understood that she had to cherish the person in front of her and not care too much about what had happened in the past.
However, understanding something was one thing, but it was another matter whether she could actually do it or not.
There was no way for her to completely forget or disregard what had happened in the past. Naturally, there was no way to just renew her relationship with him as if nothing had happened.
Compared to that kind of relationship, Vickie felt that she preferred the current one more.
They were not clingy like a couple but were more like comrades and friends, the most trustworthy partner to whom they could each give their backs.
She had always felt that to have someone like that in this world was something fortunate.
As for the rest, she did not want to think about it yet. She would take everything one step at a time and cross that bridge when she came to it.
With that thought, she relaxed and walked downstairs with brisk steps.
Downstairs, Andrea was chatting with a maid who was polishing a vase. Upon seeing her come down, she quickly greeted Vickie and trotted over with a smile. “Sister Vickie, you’re here.”
Vickie nodded with a hum.
Since the bottle of essential oil had already been tested to make sure there was no problem with it, Vickie realized that she was overthinking.
It was surprising that she would suspect Andrea tampered with the bottle of essential oil just because she had fallen asleep twice. Nevertheless, it was troubled times now, so there was nothing wrong with her being cautious.
