Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 91

One of them, who had in his possession the key, came forth to unlock the door.

Click! The locked door was unlatched.

The moment the door swung open, everyone tacitly turned their backs together.

They could not bear to visualize the possible scenario that took place in the room.

However, Gideon quietly stood there without moving a muscle.

Sensing something amiss, curiosity urged one of them to turn back for a look.

The next second, he widened his eyes in shock.

Inside the room, four men of sturdy build were scattered around. Their heads were bleeding and one of them even had a finger broken off. As these men lay unconscious, fresh blood soaked carpeting underneath them, staining the beige rug crimson red.

Nell was recoiled on the sofa, holding a glass bottle shattered in half.

Hunching over her knees, she curled up on the sofa. Her hair was a mess and her arms were covered in cuts and bruises. There were also bloodstains on her fingers coiling around the glass bottle, probably slits from the glass.

Her glassy eyes turned to the door as the source of activity. Although her mind was a blank, Nell remained on alert out of instincts, jolting up like a startled bunny.

“Who’s there?”

Gideon walked in, step by step.

“Don’t come over!”

Nell bellowed in a low voice.

She was not in her right mind. The combination of alcohol and drugs contributed to her disheveled and chaotic state.

Yet, she still raised the glass bottle like a warrior in the line of fire, defending herself to the very end.

Gideon had a glint in his eye. While he passed by a man lying on the ground, his foot mercilessly trampled over the person’s hand.

“Ahhhh!”

It was a horrible shriek.

Cautioned by the sound, Nell quivered before crouching over.

She randomly wielded the wine bottle but her gaze remained steady. With a hoarse voice, she shouted, “Don’t come over! I’ll kill you!”

Gideon continued his way forward.

As if Nell could sense that the enemy this time was not as easy to deal with as before, she fumbled for her phone.

“I’ll tell Gideon Leith. I’ll look for him. Don’t come over, otherwise Gideon Leith won’t let you get away with it, he won’t let you get away, he won’t... AH!”

Gideon snatched her hand.

“Let me go! Let me go!”

“Nelly, it’s me.”

He tried to restrain her flailing arms while being cautious to avoid touching the wounds on her limbs.

His voice was low and raspy. “Don’t be afraid. Nelly, it’s me. I’m here.”

As though she had lost her hearing and vision, Nell put up a struggle and swung the bottle to stab him.

“Don’t come over, don’t come over...”

Standing by the door, Matthew watched with his heart in his throat. There were a couple times the president was almost cut by the glass while trying to avoid aggravating Ms. Jennings’ wounds.

He exclaimed, “President, why don’t you let the bodyguards take over. Ms. Jennings’ disoriented, if she hurts you...”

Turning a deaf ear, Gideon agilely seized the bottle in Nell’s hand. He then pulled her into his embrace with his might.

“Nelly, it’s me. I’m Gideon Leith. Don’t be scared, I’m here.”

He repeated these simple and monotonous words. It took a long while before Nell finally settled down.

Nell lifted her head to stare at his face in disbelief. Her beautiful face, drenched in tears and painted in flushes of red, spoke of untold desolation and disarray.
