Nell did not even remember when she had been saved by Gideon. She had completely forgotten what had happened afterward.
The aftereffects of drinking along with the drug were still making her head hurt!
Gideon watched her hit her head with a confused frown and a bad feeling arose in his heart.
“Don’t tell me that you don’t remember what happened last night.”
Nell looked up at him and said in a daze, “No, I remember. I was schemed against by Hayley Morton at Pearl River International. She drugged me and found four men to gangrape me, but I pummeled them to the ground.
Gideon’s eyelid twitched viciously.
“Then?”
“Then?”
Nell stared at him blankly.
“Then… You rescued me?”
“Heh!”
Gideon smiled darkly and lost the mood to hold her up to help her eat. He took his coat and turned to walk away.
“Hey! Where are you going? You haven’t told me yet!”
The answer to Nell’s question was the sound of the door closing.
Nell rubbed her nose gloomily, feeling that this man really had an odd temper.
One second he was completely fine, and the next second he became angry.
It was truly inexplicable!
However, she was not in the mood to bicker with the man at the moment. She had spent too much physical energy last night and her stomach was rumbling.
Grimacing, she got out of bed and sluggishly moved over to the table before sinking into the chair.
Gideon had prepared a rich breakfast for her. There was porridge, crab roe buns, and fried dough buns; they were all her favorites.
Nell ate her fill and felt much better after the meal. Her body was no longer as sore and uncomfortable, so she went to the bathroom to wash up.
A set of women’s attire was stacked on top of the bed, presumably prepared for her.
After changing, she walked out of the bedroom, thinking that, with how angry he had been earlier, Gideon would have already left.
Unexpectedly, she saw him sitting on the sofa in the living room, using his laptop to handle business.
Nell was immediately overjoyed.
“You didn’t leave!”
Gideon did not look pleased and simply snorted coldly.
Nell quickly ran over and sat down beside him.
“I was just joking with you earlier. How could I have forgotten? Thank you for saving me last night!”
The woman tugged at his sleeve with a fawning smile.
Gideon gave her a sideways glance and smiled vaguely.
“I’ve seen your true colors now.”
“Huh? What?”
“Hah! Whenever you need me, you’ll take the initiative to call me ‘dear’ affectionately. When you don’t need me, you want me to respect you and keep my distance. Hah… Women!”
Nell. “...”
Gideon closed the laptop and stood up.
“Matthew!”
“Here.”
Nell did not notice when Matthew had arrived. He had been standing at the entrance porch earlier.
“We’re going back to the company.”
“Yessir.”
