Unexpectedly, this morning, they had turned their backs and suddenly picked another supplier.
If it was just one case, Thomas would not have been suspicious.
However, the series of events let him know that something must have happened, or he had provoked someone who should not be provoked.
Sure enough, only God knew how angry he was when he learned that Haley had drugged Nell and provoked Gideon Leith.
However, no matter how angry he was, his daughter was still his daughter. All he could do was swallow any bitterness he had.
He had originally thought that it was Nell who had instructed Gideon to do all this, but judging by her reaction, she seemed to be clueless.
Gideon had done so much for her, but she did not know anything about it. Her position in Gideon’s heart must be...
Thomas did not dare to continue the train of thought. A deep feeling of regret arose in his heart.
How good would it be if he had not let Nell go back then?
Nevermind what she could bring to the Morton family. At the very least, she would not have provoked an enemy as big as Gideon Leith.
Thomas only felt miserable thinking about this, and advised in a soft voice. “So you didn’t know. It’s alright. You just need to go back and tell Mr. Leith that the Morton family has no intention of making things difficult for you. Please ask him to be magnanimous. I’ll take it upon myself to properly control my children in the future and never let them mess with you again. Please tell him that.”
Nell was slightly startled and understood in a flash.
She smiled. “Alright, but Uncle Thomas must keep to his word and do it. Otherwise, if something happens again in the future, I can’t guarantee that I’ll be able to plead for you again.”
Thomas said evenly, “Yes, I understand.”
Nell nodded. “Okay, then I’ll drop this matter. I’ll leave first. You can bring her back yourself!”
Thomas smiled. “Alright, thanks a lot, Nell.”
Nell did not say anything more and turned to leave.
As she left, she happened to see Hayley being brought out.
The moment she saw Nell, she immediately rushed towards Nell viciously as if she was insane.
“Nell Jennings! You b*tch! Stop right there! How dare you get me arrested? You must be tired of living! I won’t forgive you. I’ll never forgive you!”
Nell smiled sarcastically and looked at her like she was a piece of trash. Then, she strode away without hesitation.
Hayley continued to swear, but was held back by two policemen and could not break free.
She screamed at them. “Why are you grabbing me? You should be arresting that woman! She crippled four of my bodyguards. I haven’t even settled the score with her! Are you all dead? She committed such a serious crime and yet you arrested me instead? Are we living in a lawless society?”
The two policemen were expressionless.
Thomas got a headache from hearing Hayley and roared angrily. “Shut up!”
Hayley shrieked. “No! Dad, why are you letting her do as she pleases too?! Did she cast a spell on elder brother and you? She did this to me yet you’re letting her go!”
Thomas could not stand it any longer and raised his hand to slap her face.
Hayley’s head whipped to the side at the force and she looked at him in disbelief.
“Dad! Y-You hit me?”
Thomas gnashed his teeth. “I should have hit you a long time ago! I’ve pampered you ever since you were a girl, but now I see that I’ve spoiled you too much. That’s why you’ve become so undisciplined!”
Hayley saw her father’s livid expression and realized that he was truly furious this time.
She quickly softened her attitude and sobbed. “Dad, I was wrong. Don’t be angry, please? I was just mad that she always bullies Celine and wanted to seduce brother, s-so I just wanted to teach her a lesson.”
Thomas did not want to bother with her reasons at this point.
He rubbed his throbbing head and said wearily, “Next week, you’ll go to America with your cousin! Pick up some better habits while you’re in the United States and don’t come back for a while.”
Hayley’s eyes widened.
“What? Dad, you’re sending me abroad? I’m not going!”
Thomas’s voice was cold. “You have to go even if you don’t want to. This is not up for discussion!”
“Dad! You’d give up your own daughter because of that woman? I’m not going! I won’t go even if you kill me!”
