Spoiled by the President novel Chapter 982

Old Madam Quinton’s tone was very gentle on the phone.

“Nelly, are you at home now?”

Nell put down her chopsticks and went outside before saying, “No, Grandma. Did something happen?”

Old Madam Quinton laughed. “I’m fine, I’m just asking. I heard that… you’ll be going to Country T in a few days?”

“Yes, Aunt took a fancy to a jade mine, and I feel pretty good about it too, so I plan to go there with Gideon in a few days to take a look.”

“Well, in that case, be careful on the road. You have to pay attention to your health. If there’s anything that has to be done, make Gideon do them. Don’t let yourself get too tired.”

Nell laughed. “I know, Grandma. Don’t worry.”

“Alright.”

Old Madam Quinton did not hang up, and Nell was too embarrassed to hang up too.

However, if the other party did not speak up, Nell would not know what she wanted.

After half a minute, she could not bear it any longer and so she asked, “Grandma, is there anything else you want to say to me?”

On the other end, Old Madam Quinton’s voice was a little awkward.

“Well, it’s like this, Nelly. I heard that… you found your foster mother?”

Nell was stunned that her expression changed suddenly.

She turned to glance at Cathy before walking to a quieter area and lowered her voice. “Grandma, how did you find out?”

Old Madam Quinton laughed and said, “Well, don’t blame your aunt about this. She’s just outspoken, not that she has any bad intentions. She accidentally let it slip when she was chatting with me and told me everything when I pressed her.”

Nell’s pinched her throbbing temples.

Old Madam Quinton continued, “Your foster mother… Is she well? Did you two acknowledge each other?”

Nell forced a smile. “She’s in good health, but she has some trauma from what happened ten years ago. She has lost her memory since and can’t remember anything now.”

On the other end, Old Madam Quinton gave a surprised ‘oh’.

“Well, it’s good that she doesn’t remember. It’s nothing happy anyway. It’ll just make her suffer if she remembers.”

Nell said softly, “Yes.”

Old Madam Quinton sighed again.

“Nelly, don’t think too much about it. I called today just to check up on you. After all, since she’s your foster mother, she’s our in-law. If she has any difficulties, you can tell us. The Leith family will always be your strongest backing.”

Nell smiled, feeling her heart warm up.

“Thank you, grandma. I understand.”

“Well, if you’re free in the future, why don’t you bring your foster mother over to meet us?”

Nell hesitated.

“That… might not be very convenient for the time being.”

“Why not?”

Nell sighed.

“She has post-traumatic stress disorder and she doesn’t like to communicate with strangers. I want to wait until her situation gets better before introducing her to you.”

Old Madam Quinton understood. “Oh, that’s okay. There’s no hurry anyway, so focus on her health first. You take good care of her.”

Nell nodded.

After exchanging a few more words, they hung up.

Nell breathed a sigh of relief and she went back to the private room.
