After finishing her speech, she picked up the red brocade that covered her leg and waved it in front of him.
"Look, I've embroidered my wedding dress with my own hands, eagerly waiting in my boudoir for the one I love to come and marry me. You are intelligent, open-minded, young, and full of promise. A bright future awaits you. I am just a small part of the vast sea of life. Please, do not risk your precious life for me."
Raiden glanced at the red silk satin in her hand, then turned and walked towards the door.
"Don't worry. I won't interfere with your relationship with Artemis. I am a perfectionist. I would rather be alone than settle for less."
At this point, he seemed to sense that something was wrong and added, "Of course, if I ever meet a woman with whom I believe I don't have to compromise, I would consider settling down."
Bailey couldn't help but laugh.
Finding a woman with whom he doesn't have to compromise... That won't be an easy task.
However, with Cameron in her life, she still held hope for the future.
Before, Cameron was always clinging to her, insisting that he would marry no one but her.
Now, all he sees and feels is Blaze, completely erasing her from his world.
Zaewora.
A certain private manor.
Inside the main house's study, Artemis leaned against the floor-to-ceiling window, taking a phone call.
It was a call from Simon.
"Artemis, what is really going on between you and Rebecca? Bailey has been investigating these past few days. She even asked me about it the day before yesterday. If you truly have an unresolved past with that woman, it would be best to come clean with Bailey as soon as possible. Women are quite sensitive about these matters. Don't wait until she finds out. It will be too late by then."
Artemis furrowed his brows and asked in a deep voice, "What did you tell her when she asked you?"
"I didn't say anything. I really didn't say anything. I swear I didn't say a word."
Artemis asked again, "What has she been doing these past two days?"
"Hmm... I heard she's been shut in at home, embroidering her wedding gown and refusing visitors. Most likely, she's still upset because of what that jerk Sylvester did. He has been pestering her for the past couple of days, demanding to know Rainie's whereabouts. Bailey's fed up, so she's claiming to be in seclusion and refusing to see anyone."
Seclusion?
A glint flashed in Artemis' eyes.
It's impossible for that woman to stay at home quietly for more than three days.
She says she's in seclusion, but there must be more to the story.
"Have Catherine visit the Shurmer family tomorrow to check on her and see how things are going."
Simon let out a sigh. "Do you have anything else to talk about? If not, I'm going to hang up."
Artemis pondered for a moment, then said, "Start preparing the items needed for the wedding now."
"Don't worry about this. Mom has already instructed me. I started preparing a few days ago, so you can proceed with the ceremony as soon as you return."
After giving a few more instructions, Artemis finally ended the call.
No sooner had he put down his phone than the door to his study was pushed open. Rebecca, swaying her hips, walked in from outside.
"You've been in Zaewora for a week now. Haven't you come up with a plan yet?"
