The moment Rhonda entered the tearoom in the Luther residence, Felicity quickly stood up to welcome her. Needless to say, Rhonda was slightly caught off-guard.
“Hey, Ronni! You look so much better now. Indeed, it was a good choice to let you heal in the Jefferson residence. Surely, your mental health had improved with your parents taking care of you. I was even thinking about getting someone to bring you over.”
Hearing that, Rhonda sneered inwardly. If Gerald didn't invite Zoey to Luther Group, you wouldn't have even thought about me, let alone getting someone to fetch me from the Jefferson residence. What a joke!
“Thank you, Mrs. Luther. I'm feeling much better now. By the way, is Ms. Shurmer here yet?” Rhonda asked.
Felicity's expression darkened immediately when Rhonda mentioned Zoey. That b*tch is even more annoying than Bailey!
“Since the party is being held in the evening, I think she's only going to be here in the afternoon. Ronni, you're Artemis' lawful wife. This time around, you must carry yourself as his wife and take good care of Ms. Shurmer, okay?” Felicity uttered.
“Don't worry, Mrs. Luther. I'll deal with her accordingly. I won't let you down,” Rhonda answered. Of course! I don't need you to remind me what to do. She had used abortifacient and aphrodisiac drugs on me. Zoey had ruined my pregnancy and my wedding. I'll surely make her pay!
“Good! You're a smart kid, so you know what's on my mind. You're indeed my ideal daughter-in-law! Any woman who wishes to come into the family will need our approval!”
The corner of Rhonda's mouth turned up. “You've been looking after me, Mrs. Luther, so I'll repay you and show Ms. Shurmer her place.”
Bailey had lunch at the Chivers residence.
After lunch, Edmund invited her to watch a movie, but she turned him down.
She told him something had happened at the pharmaceutical factory, so she would be busy that night.
Instead of convincing her, Edmund sent her to the pharmaceutical factory personally.
When they were in the car, Bailey asked curiously, “Edmund, I heard that the head of the Shurmer family, Zeke, is your friend. How is he as a person?”
Edmund flashed a smile. “Why are you bringing Zeke up all of a sudden?”
“It's nothing. I'm just asking because this man is young and famous, and I'm curious.”
“Well, what can I say about Zeke...” Edmund fell into deep thought. After a while, he smiled and said, “The Shurmer family started off as a manufacturer of medicines. Now, they have thousands of pharmaceutical factories all over the world. Although I don't know much, I know that he has a good character. In other words, he's not a person who would harm others for personal gains.”
“Is that so?” Bailey flashed a faint smile. “If he had gotten your approval, I bet that's really the case. I must find an opportunity to know him better.”
“Sure! I'll introduce you to him.”
Bailey then turned to look outside the window. Is Zeke really not capable of harming others for personal gains? If that's the case, who on earth added the other substances in the new batch of medicines produced by Dyke Pharmaceutical?
Back at the medical base, Artemis didn't go to work that day, and he was having a cup of coffee on the balcony outside Maxton's ward.
He then received a text from Ken saying: After leaving the Chivers residence, Mr. Edmund had sent Ms. Bailey to Luther Group's pharmaceutical factory. Ms. Bailey is now at the production wing, and Mr. Edmund had driven away.
Artemis smiled. Well, the woman's smart. If she dared to keep hiding in the Chivers residence, I would definitely go and look for her there.
