Victoria was dumbstruck after hearing that.
A hint of horror flashed across her eyes before she dashed toward Lionel.
Grabbing his collar, the woman bellowed furiously, “What did you do to my father?”
Lionel looked down slightly with hostility reflected in his eyes.
He could not believe that Victoria was still defending the Saunders family at that point.
If that was the case, there was no need for him to show her any mercy.
He raised his hand and threw her aside forcefully. Victoria's back slammed against the edge of the table before she slumped on the floor in pain.
“Clear the area,” Lionel ordered through gritted teeth.
The next moment, the shareholders who were in the conference room were all thrown out by the bodyguards in black.
The instant the door closed, the room was so quiet that one could hear a pin drop.
Lionel cast a cold glance at the woman sitting on the floor and said placidly, “The finance director of Saunders Group misappropriated the company's funds and attempted to manipulate Saunders Group's stocks. I've already handed him over to the Department of Justice.”
Victoria glanced up at once, her eyes filled with disbelief. “No! No, no! The one who misappropriated the company's funds was—”
Slap!
Before the woman could finish her sentence, a tight slap landed on her face.
After slapping the woman, Lionel lifted Victoria from the floor and pinned her against the conference table. “Do you want to go to jail so f*cking much?” he yelled. “Did you really think that I would let your dad off if you go to jail? Let me tell you, not only would I not let him off, I'll use even more extreme measures to take revenge.”
Victoria covered her burning cheek with one hand and turned her face away.
Lionel stared at the woman with darkened eyes, feeling utterly disgusted at the sight of her.
Victoria used to have beautiful long hair and often wore plain dresses. She was as pure as the driven snow back then.
However, that was all in the past. Currently, she was sporting a pixie cut dyed in red and wearing heavy makeup.
“Listen up. It was Saunders Group's finance director who misappropriated the company's funds. It has got nothing to do with you at all. If you choose to be a hero and surrender yourself to the Department of Justice, I'll make sure that your brother dies in jail. Do you understand?”
Victoria fixed her gaze on the man's handsome face and hollered, “What's your purpose for doing this? What's your condition for keeping me safe? The Saunders family going bankrupt? Or making sure that my father spends the rest of his life in jail?”
Lionel reached over to pat the woman's cheek before saying with a sneer, “Let's change the rules of the game. I won't send your father to prison if you promise me something.”
Sensing his thoughts, Victoria turned pale instantly.
“Oh? Have you guessed what I have in mind? It's exactly as you reckon. You have to be my mistress until I get sick of you.”
When Victoria heard that, she felt as if she had been struck by lightning. Her entire world seemed to crumble down around her.
She looked at Lionel with tears in her eyes and said in a choked voice, “Be your mistress? Do you really have to humiliate me to such an extent? Does doing this make you happy?”
Lionel let out a laugh before whispering into Victoria's ear, “I'm not that kind to just let you be my mistress in name. Not only will the very status humiliate you, but I'm also very interested in your body as well.”
Victoria looked at the man in disbelief, and her body started shaking as she said, “But... but you're already married...”
Lionel sneered and replied, “It's common for successful men to have a few mistresses outside. Do you think I really care about loyalty in a marriage? My life values have become twisted ever since your dad made me sleep with my stepmother. Given how much criticism and humiliation I've already endured, do you think it would matter to me if I were to be called out for having an affair?”
