The manager ordered the security guards to chase the press out while shouting, “Your actions have gravely intruded on the privacy of our guests! We will be taking legal action if this carries on!”
One of the press jabbed, “This is such a refined place, and yet someone booked out the third floor to have fun. Is this what actually sustains the restaurant? This is shocking. Don't tell me the owner is some government official's lover.”
The manager was at a loss of words.
He never knew something like that could happen, so he was so anxious that he resorted to threatening the press with legal action, only to have it backfire on himself.
Another journalist waved and ushered aloud, “Okay, now that we've taken enough photos, we don't need to stay for the whole thing. Let's show some decorum and leave the restaurant for the manager's sake.”
The rest of them obliged.
That night, scandalous photos of Rose flooded the internet, gaining global traction within a few hours.
Although Wendy attempted to stop the news from spreading using LG Corporation's resources, her efforts amounted to nothing.
Rose made a blunder so huge that not even LG Corporation could direct public opinion despite being a leading media company.
Back in Shelbert Condominium, Bailey was scrolling through the news on her phone while sprawled out on the couch.
Admittedly, Rose used to have quite the influence, evident from how those scandalous photos went globally viral the moment they were published.
Nonetheless, Bailey was certain that the woman was as good as ruined.
Haha. I can't be blamed. I merely gave her a taste of her own medicine.
“Aren't you going back?”
Artemis leaned against the couch lazily, his eyes half-closed as he muttered casually, “I'm sleeping over here tonight.”
Bailey rolled her eyes, well aware that she wouldn't be changing his mind anytime soon, so she changed the topic instead. “Where's Rainie? Could Sylvester have slept with her?”
“My sworn brother is all as decent as I am.”
Urgh, he sure has some thick skin.
At a suite in a five-star hotel, Rose was bawling while snuggled on a couch.
Next to her, her manager consoled her. “Rose, it's not time to give up yet. Get yourself together and wait for a chance to turn the tides.”
Rose lifted her gaze to look at her manager with a malevolent expression. “Turn the tides? How am I supposed to do that? Those scandalous photos of mine are now a worldwide sensation! I've lost all of my footing in the entertainment industry.”
“Don't forget you still have the best resources.”
Rose's gaze intensified immediately. “By that, you mean...”
“Ms. Wendy.” The manager didn't beat around the bush. “She's the only one you can rely on. Didn't she request your help to deal with that woman who kept on pestering Mr. Gezmond? We'll find a way to get rid of that third wheel and gain Ms. Wendy's favor. By the time all of this is over, we can have her propel you into stardom yet again using LG Corporation's resources. You have nothing to fear for.”
Bloodlust fleeted across Rose's gaze. “Have you investigated the third wheel as I instructed a few days ago?”
“Yeah. Her name is Victoria Saunders, and she was Mr. Gezmond's first love who betrayed and forced him into exile. Mr. Gezmond returned to seek revenge against the Saunders family. With Saunders Group already acquired by LG Corporation, Victoria is now down-and-out. I'm certain we can get rid of her.”
Rose clenched her fists around the tissues she was holding. “Okay. We'll do just that. By the way, have you found out who's behind the incident tonight?”
Her manager gritted her teeth and spat, “Bailey Jefferson.”
Rose fell silent for a moment before rage flared within her and filled her gaze.
Bailey Jefferson... Bailey Jefferson... One day, I'll make minced meat out of her!
The next day, Raiden arrived at the office of Luther Group's lead designer on the top floor of the company headquarters without hindrance.
