“Of course. If I didn't have a way, I wouldn't have come before you today,” Zoey said.
“All right, tell me your plan. If I approve of it, we will work together. If I don't, don't you think of playing any tricks either. Your family may be influential in Lostaria, but that doesn't mean you can afford to offend the Fletcher family.”
Zoey merely smiled at Scarlett without voicing any objections, fulfilling the latter's sense of superiority.
Scarlett was used to being the center of attention, and she had never really experienced any hardships. Just a few words of flattery were enough to make her feel full of herself. Once that happened, Zoey would be able to wrap Scarlett around her little finger.
“Bailey is representing Chanaea in the competition, and Raiden is fully in charge of this. Obviously, they're going to discuss things with each other. Ms. Fletcher, don't you want to grab this great opportunity right before you?”
Scarlett narrowed her eyes at Zoey. “Finish what you want to say at once. Don't keep me hanging; I don't have the energy to play the guessing game with you.”
Zoey couldn't help but sneer inwardly.
Does she actually think she can compete with Bailey with that brain of hers? She'll be defeated the moment they face each other.
“I'm sure Raiden has a copy of Bailey's source code on his computer. If you find a way to get it and leak it to the other contestants—”
Scarlett raised her hand and stopped Zoey before she could finish.
She finally understood what Zoey meant.
“Do you think I'm stupid? I don't need you to explain that to me in detail,” Scarlett retorted.
Her words once again caused Zoey to scorn her in her heart.
Staring at Zoey coldly, Scarlett demanded, “What can I gain from doing this?”
Zoey had to suppress her urge to laugh as she explained, “If Bailey doesn't win, she won't be able to redeem herself. More importantly, she will be accused of plagiarizing. Once she goes down, no one can protect Veronique. With Veronique gone, who else will compete with you to become Justin's wife?”
As Scarlett listened on, she clenched her fists.
That's right! If I want to get rid of Veronique, I need to deal with Bailey first.
“Okay, deal. I'll find an opportunity to steal the source code. Once I get it, I'll give it to you.”
“No problem. I'm looking forward to our fruitful collaboration.”
The two women clinked glasses and shared a smile.
In the seaside mansion, the bedroom was painted crimson by the setting sun.
Victoria slowly opened her eyes. After spacing out for a while, she slowly regained her senses.
She tried to sit up, but she felt boneless.
As she tried to move, an excruciating pain shot up from between her legs.
When she recalled the scenes in the garden that afternoon, a look of shame and despair flashed across her face.
