The word “sleep” ignited a burning rage in Glen's eyes.
“B*stard, do you want to stand idly by and watch Edmund be ruined?”
Simon's lips twitched as the urge to tell Glen about the children's true identity swelled within him. Nevertheless, he didn't dare to do so without Artemis' permission.
“Fine. Since you refuse to do it, I'll call him myself.”
Simon's lips puckered in response. Go ahead, I wouldn't wish for anything else.
Meanwhile, Artemis drove back to his private mansion as fast as he could.
With Bailey in his arms, he stumbled along the way while rushing into the bedroom.
Everywhere he passed, he would bump into something.
At the sight of his reddened eyes, Bailey couldn't help chuckling. “You're a grown man! Why are you still behaving like a child? Aren't you worried about hurting me like that?”
After a moment of silence, Artemis took a deep breath and leaned in to kiss her.
Laughing softly, Bailey wrapped her arms around his waist.
Finally, no one will bother us anymore.
Unexpectedly, their plans were immediately disrupted as an untimely ring echoed through the spacious bedroom.
They felt as if someone had dumped a bucket of cold water onto their heads.
Artemis couldn't help but curse, “F*ck, I forgot to leave my phone in the living room.”
Narrowing her eyes in silence, Bailey had an inkling about who was calling.
Simon should've sent Edmund home by now. Old Mr. Chivers must've guessed what my decision is just by looking at the inebriated Edmund. Hence, the phone call...
If she could guess who it was, so could Artemis.
Raising his head with a wry smile, Artemis remarked, “Save it. I know what your decision is—answer the call and head over to the Chivers residence to accept our punishment.”
With that, he supported himself in an attempt to get up.
Amidst a soft chuckle, Bailey put her hands around his neck as she whispered into his ear, “Why don't you be quick and scratch this itch of ours? It won't take up much time. Since we're going to be taught a lesson, we might as well do it first. That way, the punishment would be well worth it, don't you think?”
Artemis' eyes sparkled as he gave her a look of surprise.
“Y-You're not asking me to go?”
Bailey let out a sigh. “It's not like I'm unaware of the reason Old Mr. Chivers has summoned you. I might have had reservations in the past but not anymore. As you're the father of my children, there's no reason for us not to sleep with each other. So, what's there to be afraid of?”
An ecstatic glint flashed across his eyes as he leaned in to kiss her.
Thereafter, romance filled the room with the moon shining brightly outside.
Both of them giving themselves to each other was the purest expression of their love.
“Sorry, the number you have dialed is unavailable. Please try again later.”
“Sorry, the number you have dialed is unavailable. Please try again later.”
“Sorry, the number you have dialed is unavailable. Please try again later.”
Glen called three consecutive times, but no one picked up.
Outraged, the old man threw the phone back on the table before getting to his feet with the help of his walking stick.
“Take me to your brother's private mansion.”
Perturbed, Simon touched his forehead and probed, “Grandad, why can't Artemis and Bailey be together? Don't you like Bailey a lot? What's the difference between her being with Artemis and with Edmund?”
