He tried his best to suppress his emotions, but he still ended up stammering.
Although he already had three kids, he only knew of their existence after they were born. He had never experienced the joy of finding out that he was going to be a father.
Artemis knew there was a great chance they wouldn't keep the child because he didn't want Bailey to suffer.
Still, he couldn't help but feel elated when he found out she was pregnant. This is the product of our love!
Bailey noticed his change of mood and sighed inwardly. He must be looking forward to this. But will I be able to overcome my psychological disorder and survive the pregnancy?
“Artemis, I don't want the child.” She was testing him to see how he would react.
If he were to pressure her into keeping the child, she would most probably be utterly devastated.
She would also think that he would always prioritize his children over herself.
“Okay. Before I came over, I'd already talked to Justin about it. We think we should let Veronique perform the abortion. However, it's too early because the fetus is too small. Let's wait for another two weeks, okay?” Artemis answered.
Bailey stared at him in confusion.
Did he really agree to it? I can't believe he agreed to it so readily.
“Artemis, a-are you sure? This is your child we're talking about.”
Artemis hugged her tight and whispered into her ear, “No one is more important than you in my heart. Not even the children. As long as you're by my side, I don't mind not having a child. Yet God was kind to me. God gave me Max, Zayron, and Susan. They are the best gifts from God.”
Shocked, Bailey wrapped her arms around his waist and said tearfully, “I have prenatal depression, which is a kind of mental illness. I am a renowned physician and a hypnotist, so I know how scary this illness is. If I insist on keeping the child, I don't know if I can survive the pregnancy. I will become restless and unreasonable. I'm afraid you'll detest me.”
Artemis was heartbroken when he heard those words.
He lowered his head to kiss her forehead and mumbled, “Don't think about it, then. Let's just get an abortion.”
Bailey didn't say anything in response.
At that moment, her mind was a mess, and she couldn't decide what to do. Maybe I should wait a few days to see if I can get used to it. If I can, I may be able to keep the child.
