Lydia was so furious that she stomped her foot on the ground. “Y-You—”
Narrowing her eyes at Lydia, Lina said coldly, “Please mind your words and actions, young lady. You're an adult, aren't you? Besides, what makes you think I'm impersonating Vespera? If you want to accuse me, I'd advise you to show me proof.”
“Yes. Show us proof. Bailey suspected Ms. Young of impersonation a few days ago, too. In the end, Bailey got slapped in the face with the truth and had no choice but to apologize. So, you must be responsible for your actions if it turns out you slandered Master Vespera wrongly.”
“Y-You guys...” Lydia trembled with anger.
In truth, she wanted to tell them that Vespera was truly dead and that the woman standing before them was a fake.
However, from what Lydia had seen, she figured she would be torn to shreds if she said that.
“They're right, Liddy. You've accused Ms. Young wrongly. Please apologize to her.”
An icy voice traveled from the crowd, and Bailey stepped out from a corner.
“Psst. It's Bailey.”
“Whoa, it's Bailey.”
Fixing her teary eyes on Bailey, Lydia choked out, “You know the truth, Bay. She's obviously—”
However, Bailey grabbed Lydia's arm and shot the latter a look. Smiling, the former said, “Do you remember what I told you at the Chivers residence yesterday? Listen to me and don't let strangers affect your mood. If you've made a mistake, then you've made a mistake. Apologize to Ms. Young now. During the auction event that night, she had sworn that the purple diamond necklace was Beauty's Tear, and it was the truth.”
Lydia pursed her lips indignantly. After all, she was still too young to control her temper.
“I'm sorry. I shouldn't have spouted nonsense and accused Ms. Young of impersonating Master Vespera. Please forgive me and don't hold a grudge against me.”
“Wow. She's truly Bailey's supporter, and what's more, they seem close. Young lady, was it Bailey who forced you to accuse Ms. Young of not being Master Vespera?”
Lydia could not help but curse, “Shut the f*ck up! Don't accuse Bay! Go on and support whoever you want. One day, you'll be punished for your choices.”
“Hey, you rascal. Watch your words! How dare you speak so rudely at such a young age? Did your mother not teach you any manners?”
Lydia could not take it anymore. Just as she was about to tear the person into shreds, she was stopped by Bailey.
They're just a pack of mad dogs. It's pointless arguing with them.
