There was no trace of anxiousness on Dominic's face.
Seeing Holden was about to leave, he said flatly, “Your mother and sister are in my hands. If you want them to live, you better listen to me. I'm sure you know what you can or cannot say to Leader.”
Holden spun around and narrowed his eyes at Dominic. “Are you threatening me?”
Dominic spread his hands helplessly with a malicious smile. “It's your fault for letting me get my hands on your weakness. And yes, I'm threatening you. You're a smart person. Surely you know what to choose? Think carefully, young man. A simple slip of the mouth will cost your mother's and sister's lives.”
Holden glared at Dominic for a while before marching out of the study.
When Holden entered the room, he saw Yvette clinging tightly to Artemis and sobbing softly.
A glint flashed past his eyes as he suppressed the hostility bubbling in his heart. “Yvette, you're already someone else's fiancée. Don't you think it's inappropriate for you to hug Leader like this?” he asked grimly.
Yvette turned to glance at him, her lips curling into a smile.
Judging by his furious looks, Mr. Doyle must've dealt with him. This is great!
“He has promised to help me call off the marriage. What makes you think you have the right to scold me, Holden? Are you going to let Leader watch the woman he loves marry another man?”
Holden said nothing.
In truth, he did not know what to say. Sometimes, there was no stopping a person who had a death wish.
Just then, Artemis pushed Yvette's hand away and said to Holden, “Listen to her and call off the wedding. No one can force her if she doesn't want to get married.”
“But—”
“Yes?”
Holden hurriedly lowered his head and nodded. “Okay. I'll make the arrangements now.”
After saying that, he whirled around and stepped out of the room.
Yvette was in a very good mood. She was on cloud nine.
I've succeeded! I've successfully wiped this man's memories of Bailey.
“I'm feeling a little hungry. Can you go downstairs and make me some breakfast?”
Artemis' attractive, deep voice snapped her back to her senses.
She hurriedly nodded and said, “Of course. I'll get that arranged now.”
“The board of directors has removed you from your position. You currently have no right to sell the company. The new director has taken over your position to lead Saunders Group.”
“W-What do you mean? What are you talking about?”
Salem gritted his teeth and explained patiently, “Didn't you sell all your shares earlier? The person who bought all of them, which was forty percent of the company's total shares, has joined the board of directors to become the new director. Y-You've been kicked out of the company.”
Victor kicked the coffee table over.
“Who is it? Who's this idiot getting in my way this time?”
Touching his nose, Salem said fearfully, “It's your brother-in-law.”
Victor was momentarily stunned. When he came back to his senses, he asked, “You're saying the mysterious person who bought my shares was Lionel? He's the one who bought all my shares, snatched my position as the director, and became the new owner of Saunders Group?”
“Y-Yes.”
Victor's eyes gleamed with fury.
“Nice one. He said he never wanted a single cent from the Saunders family, yet he schemed against me and seized my power. Impressive, Lionel. You look somber and gentlemanly on the outside, but you used such despicable methods to take Saunders Group from me. Just wait. I'm going to tear his family apart.”
