Chapter 794 This Woman Almost Seduced Him
Raymond clearly didn't believe it. His sharp gaze locked onto Bailey, studying her for a moment before asking again, “Are you really here just to detoxify her? You don't have any ulterior motives?”
Bailey raised an eyebrow and countered, “This is the territory of the Hoffman family. What ulterior motives could I have?”
“True.”
Raymond nodded and chuckled softly.
“You, Bailey, indeed have some ability. But you don't have the power to take someone from within the Hoffman residence.” After speaking, he turned to a servant beside him and said, “Take Ms. Jefferson to see Ms. Juliana.”
“Yes.” The maid made a gesture to Bailey.
“Ms. Jefferson, please follow me.” Bailey smiled and walked toward the door. Just as she took a few steps, she heard Raymond's voice behind her.
“Mr. Shurmer, you have no relationship with Juliana. Please wait here. Currently, it is not convenient for her to receive guests.”
Zeke narrowed his eyes, coldly glaring at Raymond who was blocking his path. There was a glint of danger in his eyes. Bailey quickly turned back and grabbed Zeke's arm, speaking in a serious tone.
“Zeke, to Julie, your identity is indeed special. So, please wait here. Don't make things difficult for Mr. Raymond. Trust me, I will save her life.”
Afterward, she pointed toward Cameron and said to Raymond, “I assume you wouldn't mind me having a bodyguard by my side, would you? After all, this place is a dangerous one for me. I won't feel safe without someone to protect me.”
Cameron's eyes brightened. He glanced provocatively at Artemis as if to say, “We're both disguised as bodyguards, but obviously, I'm more useful than you.”
A dangerous light flashed in Artemis' eyes.
This guy can't stay with us. After we leave, I'll find a way to kick him away.
Bailey sensed Artemis' discontent and couldn't help but smile bitterly. He didn't understand poisons, so why would she bring him along?
Just to stroll around the garden? Besides, going deep into the Hoffman family's residence was extremely dangerous.
As a weak individual, he would have trouble protecting himself, let alone lending her a helping hand.
Cameron, on the other hand, was different. He could help identify the type of poison affecting Julie, making it easier for her to prepare the antidote once they returned.
He could also fight alongside her, dealing with any unknown threats that lurked in the shadows.
“Fine, you can bring one bodyguard, as long as it's not Mr. Zeke,” Raymond agreed. Bailey didn't respond and turned around to walk outside. Cameron quickly followed. After leaving the reception hall, the two exchanged glances.
Don't reveal any flaws. Don't let outsiders recognize your identity. I think Kurt is around here somewhere. If he recognizes you, things won't be good.
They silently communicated through their eyes.
I know. I'll observe her from a distance of a few meters. I can probably determine the type of poison she's been affected by. But as for you, be careful. I'm afraid there might be things I end up overlooking that puts you in danger.
Bailey couldn't help but sneer. The people of the Hoffman family were not fools, especially Raymond. He knew that if she died in this place, she would offend the Luther family, the Shurmer family, the Saviors, and even Tarragon.
If he wanted the Hoffman family to survive for generations to come, he wouldn't just stand by and watch Philip and Sofie kill her here.
As for outside the castle, that wasn't within his consideration. He would watch as they tore each other apart, ultimately getting rid of Philip while severely weakening her. He would reap the benefits then.
After walking for five or six minutes along the corridor, they arrived in front of a mansion. Bailey was familiar with this place. Juliana had invited her as a guest before.
“Ms. Jefferson, this is where Ms. Juliana resides,” the maid said.
“Okay, lead the way inside,” Bailey replied. As they were about to enter the living room, several black-clad individuals emerged from the spiral staircase, escorting two men in suits.
Bailey instinctively looked up. She recognized the young man leading them—it was Tucker, Philip's son, and Juliana's cousin.
As for the other man in the suit... He had fair and clean features, and from a distance, she could smell the scent of medicinal herbs on him. He was very likely in contact with them frequently.
Bailey glanced at Cameron by her side and received a confirming look from him. This young man was Cadence's brother, Kurt White.
“Ms. Jefferson, why are you here?” Tucker greeted her with a smile.
His gaze toward Bailey was strange, with a glimmer of possessiveness deep in his eyes. It was probably three years ago when Juliana first brought this woman back.
He was captivated by her cold and proud aura. This woman was like a white lily that had grown in seclusion on a glacier for a thousand years—uniquely independent, cold, and elegant.
Compared to those materialistic women with hot figures and full of worldly desires, women like her stood out in stark contrast.
Having spent his time among other ordinary beauties, he was almost seduced by her when he first saw her.
Later, she returned to Chanaea and became outstanding globally in just half a year.
She had countless powerful identities and trampled on her competitors, overlooking all beings from the pinnacle.
She became the woman that numerous ambitious figures coveted.
Of course, they desired her not because they were infatuated with her or liked her.
They simply wanted to imprison her, break her wings, and watch her wither bit by bit, satisfying their twisted desires.
Now, Artemis was dead, and she had lost her backing.
Many people internationally were probably starting to make their moves. Hearing that she had come to Moranta, they would likely follow closely behind. Now, he had the upper hand.
He had to capture her before anyone else. Just the thought of this cold and beautiful woman blooming like a snow lily in his embrace, and becoming one with him, made his blood boil and his whole body itch uncontrollably.
Bailey was observant, and she could clearly feel his covetous desire for her. A cold smile flashed in her eyes.
Did he really think Artemis was dead? Such foolishness would only lead to a miserable death.
Not everyone who admired her was as lucky as Cameron, whom Artemis could tolerate. If it were someone else, he would explode instantly.
“Mr. Tucker, it's been a while. I came to see Julie. I heard she was poisoned,” Bailey said.
Then she looked at Kurt and asked, “Who is this?” Tucker looked at Kurt and smiled.
“He's a friend of mine who is knowledgeable in the art of poison-crafting. I invited him to take a look at Julie, but it seems he is also helpless as to her condition.”
Bailey's inner sarcasm grew stronger. They brought the poisoner to detoxify the victim and claimed that he couldn't do it. She really didn't know what they were up to.
“I see. Well, you go ahead. I'll go upstairs to see Julie,” Bailey said. Tucker made way for her.
“Of course.”
As Bailey led her bodyguard up the stairs, Tucker turned to Kurt and said, “Did you see that woman? She's Bailey Jefferson, the one who killed your older brother. I can use the influence of the Hoffman family to help you evade pursuit from the Yablon family. But you have to let me have this woman.”
