Suddenly There Are Three (Bailey and Artemis) novel Chapter 811

Chapter 811 Is Bailey Really Dead

Nonetheless, Bailey's fingers didn't move at all. In actuality, Artemis could have forcibly pried them open, but he was afraid of hurting her finger bones, so he immediately stifled the thought that had just arisen. Left with no choice, he took out his phone and called Ken.

“Have you arranged everything?” he inquired.

“Don't worry, Mr. Luther. Everything is arranged properly. As soon as the time comes, they will go to the appointment and get the enhancer out of Kurt's hands.”

Artemis gave a light hum and instructed, “Have them do as I said, and they'll definitely get the enhancer. Meanwhile, you should go to the outskirts and wait to provide support in person, making sure to bring the item back.”

“Understood,” Ken replied.

Ten minutes later, the person in charge of the base pushed open the door of the study and reported to Zeke, who was sitting on the couch, “Mr. Shurmer, Ms. Bailey has left the base with two female bodyguards. Should we send someone to follow them?”

Zeke's eyes sparkled for a moment. He was aware of the fact that Artemis used suicide attackers as substitutes for Bailey to attend the appointment.

The anger he displayed earlier was just an act to show Bailey. Just like Artemis, he would never let Bailey take any risks, no matter what. The two of them would do anything to protect her.

If they were to watch her willingly walk into a dangerous situation without intervening, both of them would have no reason to live anymore.

“Prepare the car. I'll personally go after them.”

Although he knew that the person who went out wasn't Bailey, he still had to keep up appearances. There could be numerous spies within the base, and if they were to discover that the real Bailey was still inside the base, the entire operation would become a joke.

In order to achieve a convincingly deceptive effect, he had to pursue them. The person in charge of the base lowered his head slightly, a strange glint flickering in his eyes.

“Understood. I'll arrange it right away.”

In the suburb, a black sedan drove through the avenue lined with trees and finally came to a stop in a small grove. The person pretending to be Bailey pushed the door open and entered, her cold eyes scanning the surroundings before finally landing on a group of people in black clothes across the room.

She truly lived up to being one of the top special agents trained by Tarragon. Her operational capabilities were absolutely outstanding.

After just two days of learning, she could perfectly imitate Bailey's every move, gesture, and expression. Combined with her identical face to Bailey's, it was truly a flawless and perfect combination.

“Mr. White, you truly have impressive skills. I have been operating internationally for so many years, and no one has ever been able to hold leverage over me. You are the first. Tell me, what do you want? As long as you're willing to give a little blood from your body, I'll agree to any condition.”

With that remark, she became even more convincing in her role. It was because her voice and tone of speech were exactly the same as Bailey's.

Kurt got out of the car, his sharp gaze falling on “Bailey.”

“Ms. Jefferson, you are as proud and confident as ever. Even in a dangerous situation, you remain steadfast. My elder brother died at your hands, and it was not unjust. As for what I want, Ms. Jefferson, you should be well aware of it. An eye for an eye. You took a life, and now you shall pay with yours. Once you're dead, I will provide you with the enhancer,” he stated coldly.

“Bailey” raised an eyebrow and gave him a half smile.

“It's inevitable that you want to kill me, but I'm afraid the person behind you won't agree. We are both adults, so let's discuss more mature topics instead. You provide me with the enhancer, and you can dispose of me as you wish. How about that?”

Kurt couldn't help but sneer.

“Your brother did come after you, but my people stopped him. Within this three-mile radius, there is no escape for you. In other words, you're already like a mouse in a trap, at my mercy. What right do you have to negotiate terms with me? Everyone says that you're intelligent and clever, but in my opinion, you're nothing special. You're just too arrogant and conceited. In the end, you won't even know how you die-”

Suddenly, his words came to an abrupt halt because “Bailey” took out a dagger and held it against her own throat.

“Even though I cannot choose to live, I can choose to die. Mr. White, you better think carefully because once I'm dead, whether it's the Luther family, the Shurmer family, Cameron, Raiden, or Edmund, none of them will let you off easily.”

Kurt's expression suddenly turned gloomy. Although he wanted to disregard her and kill her right away, the words she spoke earlier had an annoying ring of truth to them.

If Bailey were to die, various forces would come after him. Even if it were not just one but a hundred of him, he wouldn't be able to handle it all.

However, if he were to hand her over to Tucker, Tucker would definitely protect him. The outcome would be completely different.

“So, Mr. White, have you made up your mind? If you have, please give me an answer.”

Kurt turned his head to the bodyguard beside him and ordered, “Bring me the syringe.”

The bodyguard soon handed him the syringe he had requested. After reaching out to take it, he drew half a tube of blood from his own arm and tossed it toward “Bailey.”

The female bodyguard beside “Bailey” quickly reached out to catch it. Seeing that, Kurt sneered.

“Don't think that just because you've got the blood, you can escape successfully. Bailey, I'm not that stupid. Your people can leave, but you must stay put obediently.”

“Bailey” shrugged nonchalantly and said, “Of course. I came here tonight for the enhancer in the first place. Don't worry. I won't make any rash moves before my people safely escape with the enhancer. You let her go, and I'll stay put. How does that sound?”

Kurt answered straightforwardly, “All right. As long as you don't cause any trouble and just stand there obediently, I promise she'll be able to leave safely.”

Hearing that, “Bailey” turned to the female bodyguard and said, “Hurry up and take the medicine back to my brother. He knows what to do with it.”

“But...”

“Don't waste any more time. Go.”

After a moment of hesitation, the female bodyguard gritted her teeth and finally got into the car. While watching the car leave, “Bailey” still held the knife against her neck. Artemis instructed her in everything.

As a loyal suicide attacker, she would unquestioningly follow the orders of her superiors. Indeed, Artemis' judgment proved to be correct.

They were able to complete the mission successfully by manipulating others. Beep! A notification sound rang from her wrist, and she lowered her gaze to check.

The screen of her wristwatch displayed “Escaped safely,” and she couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

“Now that your people are safe, can you put the dagger down?”

When “Bailey” heard that, she slowly lowered her arm.

Her mission was only halfway complete. There was still another half remaining.

That was to make Sofie and the others believe that Bailey had already died.

For that part, she didn't need to worry, as Kurt would take care of it for her. Just as she had expected, almost the moment she lowered her arm, Kurt appeared like a ghostly figure in front of her and threw a handful of black powder at her face.

A pungent smell wafted over, causing her to lose consciousness instantly. Her legs gave way, and she collapsed onto the ground.

Although she was unfamiliar with poisons, she was certain she had been poisoned. Her consciousness drifted away as she slowly closed her eyes.

A moment later, a black sedan drove by. After the car was parked, Sofie, Philip, and Tucker emerged from the vehicle. As Sofie looked at the woman lying on the ground, a strange glint flashed in her eyes.

Is Bailey dead just like that?

As she approached, ready to bend down and investigate, Kurt coldly reminded her, “She was poisoned to death by a deadly poison. Even though she's dead now, the poisonous gas on her body hasn't dissipated. If you touch her, you'll die instantly, just like she did.”
