Rayne walked out with Julian holding hands. She took a deep breath, taking in the scents of the fresh air and various dinners that were being cooked around the settlement.
Her heart was at peace even though she knew she would be walking headfirst into one of the most dangerous places she's ever been.
"I want to take some time tonight and overstock the warehouses. I want to be sure that everyone here can continue to live comfortably without me in the worst-case scenario."
Julian frowned, hearing her words, but didn't stop her. It was true, they've all been secretly relying on her this whole time. While the settlement had already made big steps toward being self-sufficient, they still relied on her goods to live comfortably.
"Then let's go home first so that you can take out the weapons and ammo. I'll sort them while you stock the warehouses," he said.
After making it home, they ate a quick meal before they both went over to their guest room to begin sorting the weapons.
Rayne made copies of the basic pistols and rifles, along with a huge amount of ammo. She also made copies of cold weapons, consisting mostly of combat knives and daggers.
All of these weapons were meant for the regular citizens of the settlement since Alpha Team already had its specialized weapons with them.
Still, a large pile of weapons formed on the ground.
"This should be more than enough. If this doesn't last them a long time, we have bigger issues to deal with", said Julian.
He stayed behind while Rayne snuck out of the house and into the warehouses. It was late enough in the evening that most of the residents were getting ready to sleep, if not already sleeping.
She walked into the food warehouse first and began filling every nook and cranny with supplies. The freezers and refrigerators were fully restocked with frozen meats, seafood, vegetables, and even desserts.
They were so stuffed that Rayne had a hard time closing the doors. She moved on to the canned food section and did the same, filling every space with high-quality canned goods of every type.
It didn't take long before the entire warehouse looked bloated with supplies.
"There's no way people aren't going to question where all of the items came from. It's visibly different in here, even at first glance", she mumbled, looking around.
Although it would raise a lot of suspicion, Rayne did not care. It was more important to ensure a large enough supply that I would last in the event she was killed or captured.
Okay, off to the next warehouse.
The next warehouse was the housing items and clothing warehouse. Similar to the previous warehouse, she filled all of the empty space with furniture, cooking wares, dishes, cleaning supplies, and a whole bunch of clothing.
Thankfully, she had so many different articles of clothing stored that there were hardly any duplicate items.
She made sure to include clothing of all sizes as well as for every season. So far, the weather has been very unpredictable, and she wanted to make sure that if it snowed tomorrow, they would be ready for it.
The last warehouse was where all of the tools and construction supplies were. It was the emptiest of the warehouses due to all of the recent construction projects, so Rayne resupplied it with treated lumber, screws, nails, pipes, hoses, glues, caulks, paint and stains.
