Indeed, her husband was spot-on about the girl in front of her—gentle and well-mannered. After all, Andre had introduced her as his "beloved wife," so Mia figured it was best to take it seriously.
Mia stole a glance at the man with striking eyes and handsome features, though he still couldn't quite hold a candle to her own dear hubby. Yet, being so young and already leading a corporation to the nation's top wealth, he must have some serious skills up his sleeve.
Reminding herself to maintain grace, elegance, and poise, Mia knew she was representing the Cedillo family with every move.
Her tender and sweet words of blessing left Henry, her son, wide-eyed with surprise, as if a new dress had somehow transformed his mom into a whole new person.
The elder formally introduced his family to the Cedillos, "My granddaughter, Aimee. My grandson-in-law, Patrick..."
Since the young Miss from the Hernandez family was around Mia's age, in her twenties, she was tasked with looking after Mrs. Cedillo.
Aimee boldly declared, "Mrs. Cedillo, come on, let's go."
As Mia turned to leave, her son tried to tag along, but she shooed him away, "Go on, find your dad." There were circles for women and circles for men, and Henry, being a guy, just wouldn't fit in here.
Kicking off a women's gathering, especially one with a hint of business, left both Mia and Aimee a bit unsure of how to break the ice, making the atmosphere a tad awkward.
Thankfully, another woman with a baby girl soon joined them, easing the tension.
Turned out, the newcomer was a renowned actress and Aimee's older cousin. She exuded genuine grace, making Aimee and the young miss seem a bit stiff in comparison. "Mrs. Cedillo, pleasure to meet you. I'm Autumn."
Mia smiled warmly, "I'm Mia."
