Annie: "..." It was just a typical couple's kiss for a few minutes, what's with the 'we've already come this far' talk? Sounds a bit cheeky.
Annie replied, "I took some time off to be here, just for two hours."
Conner glanced at Annie's outfit, his eyes narrowing slightly, "Two hours, huh... No problem, I'll be quick. We've got enough time."
"Hold on! I've already spent an hour here, I need to go."
"Annie!" Conner tried to coax her into staying.
Annie wasn't some naive girl; she knew exactly what he was trying to do and firmly said, "No way, I have things to do."
She pushed Conner away and wiped her lips, still tingling from their kiss. "Don’t worry about me, go check on your aunt. I'm out."
"Come on!"
Before shutting the door, Annie shot back, "In your dreams."
After getting told off, Conner settled down. Annie realized she needed to use some unusual tactics to handle her fiancé.
He watched her leave, a grin lingering on his face long after she was gone.
As soon as Annie was out of sight, he whipped out his phone, "Asher, guess what? Annie just kissed me first! She’s totally into me."
Over at the military base, Asher listened to the message, squinting like an old-timer, "So, she kissed you first, but you still haven’t gotten her to stay over, huh?"
Conner: "..." Damn, that stung.
Meanwhile, at the police station, Annie showed up with a rosy blush. Her colleagues noticed and teased her, "Annie, what's up with the rosy cheeks?"
Annie: "It's freezing outside and toasty in here, the temperature change got to me."
Switching gears quickly, she asked, "Any updates from the interrogation yet?"
Easton's apprentice was confused, "Boss, isn’t that just gonna wake them up more?"
Officer Chad, hands on hips, replied, "Just follow Chad’s instructions."
Annie, spinning in her chair, chimed in, "Officer Chad’s surprise tactics were legendary back at the academy; he knows what he’s doing."
The forensic expert nodded, backing Annie, "Trust Officer Chad. Think about how Molly’s managed all these years, and you’ll see how skilled Chad is."
Everyone: "Alright, let's go with Officer Chad’s plan."
Everyone knew Officer Chad’s toughest "little criminal," his pride and joy, was no easy feat.
Sure enough, a few cups of coffee were taken into the interrogation room, "Here, have some coffee, wake up a bit. It’s bitter, but it works wonders."
The criminals were suspicious; since when did cops offer coffee to keep them alert? They weren't buying it.
