Chad was speechless. His meticulously planned surprise and the warm embrace he had anticipated did not come. He sighed, got out of his car, and entered the bar.
As soon as he walked in, he heard heart-wrenching cries from the crowd. It was Molly! She was crying as though her world had ended.
People around frequently turned their heads towards the noise. Molly was pretty, but her crying was rather... ridiculous.
Chad walked in behind Molly. The staff recognized him as the young man who had come to pick up his sister.
Chad was immaculately dressed, and carried a light scent of sandalwood. This was a clear indication that he had put in considerable effort to look his best that day. He was wearing a suit, which was rare. Usually, he would only wear a suit for formal events or when meeting important people.
Everything he had done today was to cater to Molly’s aesthetic preferences, but in the end, she ended up getting utterly drunk.
“I lost my brother... I can’t find him. He’s a police officer, but he’s missing!” Molly sobbed as she spoke.
Tanner got up and stood next to Chad. “Mr. Chad, the miss said she could handle 12 glasses, but she started crying after much few.”
There were people around Molly trying to console her. “Molly, don’t cry. Your brother is here. The police officer is not lost.”
Chad walked over and Molly’s colleagues quickly stood up to give him their seats. He sat down and could see his sister’s profile from where he was sitting.
“Turn your head and see who I am,” Chad said.
Molly, who had been crying, turned her head and looked at the person who had just sat down. “You’re a hot guy.”
Everyone was speechless.
Chad was also stunned by his sister’s remark. “Not bad. You still know that I’m hot.”
“No, Chad, I’m your brother.” Molly suddenly recognized Chad. She threw herself into Chad’s arms and cried.
Chad held back. Who was whose brother?
His neatly dressed body was suddenly invaded by a snotty girl. He leaned back, staring at his sister in his arms with a slightly disgusted expression. “Do you recognize me now? Let’s go home.”
“I can’t walk. You chopped off my legs.”
The people around them weren’t blind, and could see her long slender legs. Chad didn’t know what to say.
The colleagues around tried to hold back their laughter.
He now understood what his mother’s words meant. He had to carry her out. He grabbed Molly’s arm, put her arm around his neck, bent down, lifted her legs and waist, and carried the limp girl in his arms. Then he stood up.
Chad said goodbye to Tanner, and left with his crying sister.
Seeing the unfamiliar car, Molly clung to Chad’s neck. “Chad, whose car is this? Who are you selling me to?”
Chad replied, “I’m selling you to myself. Who else would I sell you to?”
