Chapter 144
Larissa asked Lana ‘How many servings did you pack?”
Since Larissa had prepared all the dishes, Lana rsisted on personally packing the food as a way to express her sincerity.
Larissa decided to let Lana do it since packing food required no skill at all, She didn’t pay close attention to how much Lara had packed into the lunchbox.
Avoiding Larissa’s gaze. Lana lowered her head and said in a trembling voice. “I only brought enough for Mr. Rogers, What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. Larissa had no right to criticize Lana for not being considerate. She hersell hadn’t thought of reminding Lara to bring an extra portion for Dylan before he questioned her.
“You go upstairs first. Mr. Rogers‘ office is on the 69th floor. When you get there, ask someone for the exact location. I’ll go out and buy something for Mr. Shields. After all, he also helped a lot yesterday.”
Lana’s jaw dropped when she realized her mistake. Covering her mouth, she exclaimed in regret “Mr. Shields! How could I farget about him!”
The elevator arrived at that moment. Lana quickly composed herself and stepped into the elevator with an apologeti smile. “I’ll have to trouble you, Larssa!”
Although Larissa didn’t expect Lana to accompany her. Lana’s entitled request and abrupt departure annoyed her to no end. She was tempted to just leave Lana here, without caring whether her actions would attend Dylan.
Suddenly, her phone vibrated with another message from Dylan. It read, “Did she really forget about me?”
Just by reading the message, Larissa could sense his evident disappointment.
In the end, she had a change of heart. She replied, “No. Il bring some food up to your office immediately. Which floor is your office on?”
Larissa bought coffee and sandwiches from the Starbucks next door and brought them up to the 69th floor.
According to Dyan, his recently established law firm was situated on the same floor as Microworks Corporation’s presidential office. The two offices occupied distinct spaces and were Irked by a private door accessible only to Dylan and Kevan, Furthermore, there was a single elevator that provided exclusive access to the law firm, separate from the other elevators.
Dylan asked Larissa to go to Kevan’s office with Lana first so that she wouldn’t have to wander around. He would go to Kevan’s office to meet up with them later.
“Go with Lana?” Larissa uttered those words under her breath sarcastically. However, she simply replied, “Okay.”
Aexiting off the elevator and burning a corner, Larissa arrived at the presidential office.
As Larissa approached the door, she heard someone inside speaking. “Our president is a very busy man. He doesnt have the time to meet
with any random person.”
siting voice sounded like it came from a young woman, Although her voice was sweet, the words were sharp.
“Are you calling me a ‘random person‘?” The other voice clearly belonged to Lana. “Do you even know who I am?”
Lana sounded impatient as well. It was obvious that she was going to lose her temper.
The young woman snorted with disdain. “Aren’t you just a gold digger lantasizing about hooking up with a millionaire?”
“You!”
The brewing lension in the room made Larissa unable to stand by and watch any longer. She entered the room and saw Lana confronting a woman with wavy red hair, dressed in a cream suit.
Other spectators in the office were looking at the scene with interest.
